Freddie Gibbs says he can rap better than MF Doom. Coli, we agree or nah?

Who the better rapper: Doom or Gibbs?

Once sold an inbred skinhead a nikka joke
Plus a brand new chrome smoker with the triggers broke
I thought I told him firing pins was separate
He'll find out later when he tries to go and rep it

:mjlol: DOOM can go on the most random tangents and still nail the multis.

I played this shyt for some of my homies coming home from a show last week. They were bugging out at every other line in this joint. Whole fukking song is one amazing quotable after another.

This nikka's lyrics were so off the wall incredible that he made the beat an after thought ......while rhyming over fukking J Dilla production.

:mindblown:

Are we sure Freddie Gibbs has more black fans than MF DOOM :patrice:

Gibbs surprisingly got a lot cac hipster fans. I remember going to the Shadow of Doubt listening party, nikkas was so far in between I was able to get in free after being mistaken to be part Gibbs entourage:russ:. I don't how if it was how I dressed like probably like your typical la hood nikka or I had doppelganger running around. As soon as I hit door where they check Id and pay; some Cac comes up to me gives me a pound tells me ya boy Gibbs is downstairs and I waltz on thru

After watching the clip :fleece:

I can respect where he's coming from. Madvillainy is the bar as far as MadlibxRapper projects and you most certainly should feel like you should want to surpass it if you're working with Madlib. Hiphop as a whole should be competitive and once dudes get comfortable, sounds get stake and stagnant.

HOWEVER

Gibbs ain't seeing Doom on the mic as far as lyrics. Flow sure, but lyrics? Not at all.

Holla at me when Gibbs crafts a verse as socially relevant and as scathing as the 2nd verse on this joint.

And I'm willing to bet money he'll go back and retract this like the last few times he jumped out the window :lupemperor:

NAH THIS AINT IT.

I can see why they would use that, rapping gets hard as shyt when you try to use multi-syllable words or words people don't typically use and then trying to fit it in a bar that makes sense with it's definition that doesn't chop the flow up

It's still cac shyt to have to think like that

Black folks just worry about staying on beat and not all that technical shyt.

I’m giving it to Doom because I’ve heard more of his stuff. Freddie did his thing on this last album though
