The music itself is incredibly dope. A return to form for gibbs whose kindve hit a stump over recent years

But the content of the music itself bothers me. Petty shots at unproblematic nikkas who wont respond, like spitta, benny punked you and you wont keep his name out your mouth (wont be surprised if this gets him killed someday), roping alc and larry into this shyt when they probably didnt even know you was gonna do this shyt..etc, shyt way too messy.

Ill bump it but i expect some fallout from this stunt
All of this. I'll bump it too because it's a vibe but It won't stick to my ribs like soul food. He's not saying anything

Dude's been rapping about his life, poverty, unemployment rates in Gary, family issues, lack of education, racism, hustling and struggles with fame and drugs since 2008. 90% of his music has been introspective since he started.

So that's definitely not an accurate take.
Meh. On a surface level. He's always in character. This gangsta Gibbs persona is stale. Dude touches on shyt he never delves in.

I really don’t want my rappers delving in shyt. Most of the 90s/2000s rappers we grew up listening to didn’t do shyt either - it was the dudes around them. Drill music exists for the rappers that “delve” in shyt

To me Gibbs is just the personification of Gary, Indiana gangsta rap. He may not have done any of the shyt he rapping about but the shyt that really go down over there and he showing what life in Gary like.

I’ve always loved regional rap because of that - you get a different view/perspective into the lifestyle of how people in this area live. When I listen to Rome, I feel like Im somewhere in NYC, when I’m bumping Boldy, you get that grimey Detroit feel, if I’m bumping Larry it’s like he taking me through the bay. That’s the beauty of the art form IMO

That's who he really is.

He's not rapping about outlandish sh*t and doing the mafioso fantasy move. He's talking about the ups and downs of the life of Gibbs. That's what introspective Hip Hop is. It's authentic. State of affairs of black people in his city, issues with racism and the pitfalls of crime and bad decisions. That's what honest Hip Hop is supposed to sound like. I don’t want him trying to be some sh*t he's not, or making up sh*t. He's been keeping it a buck since he started.

I think Alc best work is far and away the boldy james tape.
Covert Coup after that

This is up there though, not a skip on it beat wise

:wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow: :wow:

Undeniable chemistry between those two. I also really thought ALC gave Benny some superb beats on Tans Talk 4

Johnny Ps Cady
Super Plug
Bust A Brick Nick
Throwry’s Revenge
Weekends In The Perry’s

Some of his hardest beats recently imo

Gibbs' nonstop introspection is what literally made most people fans, what are y'all talking about :heh:

FACTS!

You can tell these dudes ain't listening to bro's catalogue like that. They're just assuming, but looking crazy because they're saying the opposite of what dude's been doing for damn near 20 years. LOL!!

I hate when fans make it where artists GOTTA get into deep topics or complex concepts or they're not rapping about shyt. I could see if Gibbs came out on some concept rapper shyt and then switched up on some gangsta shyt but he's pretty much been the same style of rapper since he started, which I can respect him for.

I’ll say one bad thing: please stop inviting Larry June to be on projects. That nikka is boring/wack.
Worst part of the beef is we probably would’ve got a Griselda feature on here if him and Benny are on good terms. (Benny, Conway, Boldy, stove, or Rome) as a feature instead we are stuck fast forwarding the middle of “Feeling”

I think him and Benny were working on a project too. Freddie is such a bytch, but a talented one.

Larry June is fukking trash. not that witty, boring, monotone, redundant, just a waste of beats. Really baffles me that he's gotten this acclaim and placement
2Chains really outshined him on Life Os Beautiful with his mic presence, flow and personality unlike June who was easily the weak link on that album
