Some of these businesses also have themselves to blame. You have to keep adapting with the times.
A lot of these businesses were still keeping with that same formula from like the 80s.
They thought if they built that brick and mortar and put it in the right location that the consumer would come, but this younger generation is all about convenience and advances in technology have allowed them to be that way. It's more convenient for most people to pull out a smartphone, order stuff online, and have it sitting on their doorstep or in their mailbox 2 days later.

If places like Sears and Circuit City would have jumped on that internet wave in it's infancy they might still be around. You look these shopping malls and ish now and they are ghost towns and shells of their former self, they were popping in that late 80s to me early 2000s era though when I was coming up.
It's a so much different world in 2021 than it was in 1981. A lot of those places didn't adapt and they're paying for that now via liquidation and going out of business.
