nikkas in this thread kill me acting like Herb ain’t nice lol, I never understood the hatred for off beat rapping. If it’s not your cup of tea that’s fine, but sometimes being unorthodox works. nikkas in the Coli just want all rappers to rap the same :russ:

I mean twista was rapping about brutally murdering people kamikaze style, but also perfectly pronouncing every syllable

Lol,he bought up Bump J and said "on some street shyt". So i kinda take it to mean hes talking about dudes who was really certified street dudes or really outside. I have no idea of Twistas background. But i think hes talking about so called "real nikkas" that moonlight as rappers.

I always thought the NY influence was obvious.

He always gassin unlike his Chicago contemporaries (from his era). Chi has always had spitters tho.

nikkas still actin like Herb trash tho? One of the most consistent artists in the last 10 years.

They are willfully hating and ignoring that he was rapping like NY when he first started

:pachaha:

How you gonna be mad at someone’s influence?

Don’t get the Herb hate he’s low key mad influential and a young legend

It pains nikkas that NY deserves credit for influencing Chicago drill and not just Atlanta like y’all be trying to spin it

I remember claiming Dipset, I told them bytches…:umad:

Because you're young and have come up with off-beat rapping as the standard. The hate comes from the fact that it doesn't sound good. Being unorthodox works sometimes, that sometimes coming from the MC being deliberate and in control of the odd fit of their cadence.

Rappers of the past decade-plus are the goons/weed carriers of the past who real rappers put on a record out of loyalty... meaning they never put in time to being technically good and it shows.

Would've liked to see the clip continue and not be cut off for headlines purposes cuz it seemed like he was finna clean it up by sayin' he more so talkin' street wise & not mfs like Common, Lupe, etc.

He ain't always the most technical sound, especially in terms of finding the pocket & staying there, but when he's on, his shyt do go, and he got more than a few joints I roc wit.

Bump J could rap though but sadly he crashed out and got caught in a Bank Robbery….

Had production from a prime Kanye too :mjcry: :mjcry: , got feature from Rick James before he dropped dead too.

Common sounded more like a East Coast rapper if u think about it.

Lupe was too weird for Herbo so that’s understandable as well

Took me back to my childhood with this one :salute:
