The MLB was too entrenched in its “traditionalism” over the last 20 years, so the sport hasn’t maintained entertainment value and accessibility in the modern landscape. Let the players show personality during games. Create narratives. Etc.

Blame it on Brian Cashman for putting a double A squad out there and them not sniffing the playoffs.

When your marquee team is washed folks aren’t tuning in. And it’s a shame because the new playoff format is better and this year’s post season has really delivered. Great game and brand name players in the mix.

Pitch clock and other tweaks these past 2 season are paying off but the league needs a fluid cycle of new starts (like the NBA) and get its hooks in the next generation of its audience. These old fartknockers (including the baseball writers) gatekeep everything and would rather have their grips on the game right up until they get put in the grave.

The only guy I can name on the dbacks is luis gonzalez and the other players on the rangers I know is pudge and juan and prince fielder

Texas has this guy named Corey Seager...one of the few guys hitting over .300 (.327) and he also had 33 homeruns in 119 gamed

D backs have a rookie named Corbin Carroll, 25 homers and 54 stolen bases. Pretty exciting kid.

With that said I've probably only watched a combined 3-4 innings of the first 3 games, had Halloween parties to attend :yeshrug:

Arizona lacks star power outside of Carroll and Gallen (Carroll's gonna quickly become one of the best players in baseball). The entire Texas Rangers infield was elected to start the all-star game. That's not including Adolis Garcia who's this year's Arozarena in the playoffs.

None of those guys move the needle though. They'd need to be in a bigger market. If the Dodgers with Mookie or Braves with Acuna or Yanks, Red Sox, Ohtani, etc. any combination of those teams and it'd be much bigger.

Baseball got to start earlier. Way too much competition with every sport going on right now

Dallas and Phoenix are NOT small markets. It just feels that way because we know those markets don’t rock with baseball as much as other sports.

A basketball equivalent would be Nets vs Suns

I miss watching Barry Bonds. Teams so scared of that nikka that they would intentionally walk him with the bases loaded, top of the 9th, with the game tied.

Let them score 1 run for the lead instead of an automatic grand slam.

It’s crazy how the sport with the best jerseys and hats is struggling the most. Oh well
