Having ANY sporting events going on the US during the NFL is always going to be a loser. Not sure why the other leagues haven't figured this shyt out yet

It's two otherwise nondescript teams, but that's basically it, but these are the kind of teams fans beg to be in contention until they win. Do y'all want parity or not? More postseason teams doesn't work the same in baseball as it does in basketball. If your team catches fire, even bleh teams can run right through. Apparently that's only a good idea in theory, but not in practice. Fans just want these teams around to still eventually lose to the higher profile teams.
Arizona lacks star power outside of Carroll and Gallen (Carroll's gonna quickly become one of the best players in baseball). The entire Texas Rangers infield was elected to start the all-star game. That's not including Adolis Garcia who's this year's Arozarena in the playoffs.

The cubs had the highest road attendance in mlb(in 2023)& were 1 or top 5 for several years they literally have fans all across this country because of wgn.
I've accepted this is an issue whether people want to accept it or not. A star player gets interviewed after the game and you're listening to their translator instead of the player.
I was actually shocked when Garcia got interviewed after game one with his translator and he spoke for himself in English. More of that would help. I'm sure some of these guys are self conscious about their English but people are used to it in this country. Nobody's gonna judge them.

Again, Game 1 and 2 were on a Friday and Saturday. That alone is a contributing factor to lower ratings. The NFL can't possibly be the boogieman to every possible televised event to where nothing can go on til January.
Only three sets of people had any business giving a shyt about the NFL games on Sunday and Monday: the home team fans, the visiting fans and gamblers. That's pretty much it.

It's less about being judged for broken English and more about not misconstruing what gets said. The truth is many of them know what's being asked now. They just don't fully know how to answer it in English. Look at Elly De La Cruz for example: His English isn't terrible. He just doesn't fully know it all yet (and that's understandable; he's only been in America for 2 years)

I get that but they still gave the translators there if they need help articulating their answer. Pedro, Papi and Sammy Sosa were/are all beloved and they never had perfect English. Pedro and Papi still struggle at times and they're on major networks covering the games.
The NBA has had a lot of foreign guys and they generally all speak for themselves to the media.

It’s like that in any sport. Only the vocal minority wants to see parity, underdog teams, low profile underrated players, different teams winning every year, and small market/non descript teams succeed and win. The silent majority loves dynasties, transcendant superstar players and big market/glamour/big name/marquee teams winning every year. Yankees and Dodgers are both iconic, national and historical brands the Texas rangers and Arizona Diamondbacks are not. People don’t care about these two teams but most people either hate or love the Yankees, no in between. The Yankees leave no one indifferent.
Football fans want to see the historical/blue blood teams like the giants/cowboys/eagles/packers/Steelers/bears to win every super bowl. No one would care about a jaguars-cardinals Bowl
Baseball fans want to see the marquee teams like the Yankees/cardinals/dodgers/braves/ Astros/cubs/ SF giants/Phillies to win every World Series. No one would give a fukk about a brewers- Blue Jays WS.
Basketball fans want to see the marquee teams like the lakers/Knicks/bulls/Sixers/Celtics/warriors to win every nba championship/Larry O’Brien trophy. No one would watch a Timberwolves-magic finals.
Soccer fans want to see marquee teams like the Manchester United/Real Madrid/Chelsea/Arsenal/PSG/Bayern/AC Milan/Turin Juventus/Olympique de Marseille in the champions league every year etc
