Gas will be likely be $5 in 1-2 years, and then $6 in 7 years. Not too mention, you can always get a 07 - 09 Hybrid Sedan for $14 k - $18 k.

The used cost will still be more expensive than a regular car. You still have to figure out if the price difference is going to be a value based on the amount you're "saving" in gas. In most cases, it won't be.

I'm not against hybrids, but just because you're saving a few dollars in gas NOW doesn't mean it's a savings over the course of time you have the car.

That's the only way I'd ever cop a hybrid or any car for that matter. However, I would still do the comparison of gas saving.

A lot of these nikkas don't even go anywhere and complaining about gas prices. If you're driving a lot because of a work commute or you have a bunch of jobs or some shyt that's different, but one less trip to ther corner store to buy a blunt and snacks will help a lot of these nikkas save gas. Buy your swishers in bulk or something

Don't hybrids have a lot of issues? Buying used seems suspect to me.

oil companies and lobbyist are in bed with the politicians. which is why no one really gives a shyt about developing alternative fuel sources.

you think cars can't run on solar, electric, or natural gas in this day and age???? you think cars should in 2013 should be getting the same gas mileage as they were back in the 90's???? that makes no sense. why aren't cars getting 50mpg now????

LOL @ politicians shutting people up for making really good fuel efficient cars. People still want to drive Range Rovers that is 13 mpg? Even BMWs and Audis have cars that are 25-30 mpg nowadays.

It's true. I saw a movie on netflix called "gashole" talking about the auto industry fukkery. one part mentioned a dude who made an engine that ran on fuel vapor that was getting like 100mpg. then auto industry dudes started showing up at his crib, and he ended up dead........

and of course the vapor engine ceased to exist.

they talk about it here:

Why the 200+mpg vapor engine is not in production? ?

I recently watch a documentary called " Gas hole" where they had a carburated engine running off only gasoline vapor getting 100 mpg. Then after doing a little research I found that a Canadian engineer for Ford motor company developed that same style carburator back in 1933 that went 200+ miles on 1 gallon of gasoline.
His name was Charles Nelson Pogue.
My question is why aren't we developing and utilizing this technology today instead of beating a dead horse with all these alternitive fuels and hybrid vehicles? And why hasn't anyone heard of this? And if people have why didn't the technology take off?

Additional Details

I understand how a traditional carburator works. This vapor system only uses the carbs butterflys the other components are not used. I'm a former automotive tech and current diesel tech. What you have to remember is gasoline in liquid state doesn't burn. The idea of introducing vapor only into a gasoline motor is a great idea, especially when direct injection technology has come so far it has to be feasible today.
As far btu's go that has nothing to do with the amount of mechanical force that can be produced by a gallon of gas.
The idea that this technology is a hoax is implausible to me. If it was such a hoax then why has it been done time and time again all over the world?
Being a tech and in the field, the technology I work with seems to be advanced only by computers but not on the mechanical side. For instance, The modern EGR system is a giant waste of time in my opinion. It's a passive system that acts more like a patch than a solution. Why wouldn't engineers try to get engines to

:pacspit: to them people that hate real change. Wish that engineer left a blueprint for future engineers and random people to follow.

Gas is gas, I can't worry about it that much. I get points from grocery stores that have gas programs and help save on it that way.

Part of me thinks it's companies and the government positioning themselves for the US's supposed self sustainability in oil production.

I never understand why I see a station full of people pumping gas there when a station right by it is $0.20+ cheaper :wtf:

I get a rebate check from costco based on how much I spend, so I will be getting my refund in a week or two.

but still, I didn't get gas last week, so I haven't put gas in my car in 2 weeks. I was driving the last 50 miles with the light on, cuz I flat out REFUSE to get gas anywhere else than the costco that I pass on the way to work since it's one of the cheapest in the chicagoland area.

that being said, premium was $4.11 there (it's $4.89 by my house) and it still cost me $74 to fill my car up from below the E to waaaayyy past the F :why:

them arabs lookin at all of us like :takedat:

man its just the principality of it all. like you CAN'T go to the more expensive spot. even if the difference is like a nickel a gallon. in the case I mentioned earlier, 70 cents a gallon is a major difference. especially when I just put damn near 18 gallons in my whip.

yeah, cuz the big oil lobbyist put money into the lawmakers hands in order to make laws suppress technology that would significantly improve gas mileage, or find an alternative fuel sources.
