I would take amendola off that list tho. dude can make plays all over the field. when he is healthy :heh:

slot in general has changed a lot. lots of playmakers play in the slot nowadays. cruz, cobb, santana moss, miles austin, boldin, wayne, harvin all played 60%+ of their snaps in the slot. crabs excelled while in the slot even though we barely ran 2WR sets, much less 3WR sets

with that said, Im with trip and reb here. kerley is a decent, classic slot receiver

I'm not saying dude is trash, but way Reb talk you think he is welker. Dude hasn't even caught a 100 yards yet, and Reb talking Kerley is always open. He needs another wr who is decent so he can get his. We lost holmes & hill and everybody is talking about how our wr's can't get open. They didn't say "Kerley is always open but other wr's is trash they was talking him too lol

Geno was mediocre in college anytime he faced good competiton, he was lucky to play with the best trio of wr's in college

Its better he starts at least the Jets can see how bad he is and draft Theodore B next year or Boyd

I'd agree he should play now if his mechanics looked smooth. They don't...I'd rather him get reps in practice. He barely even played this preseason.

Our offense last year was as bad as it gets. Lets relax about the 100 yard game. It'll come.

What have the Jets got to lose by starting Geno? :yeshrug: They are not a playoff team this year, they won't be making a Super Bowl run.
Play Geno and let him get a year of experience under his belt. Get some chemistry with his team, receivers, etc. Capernick and Russel Wilson both got their chances last year and shined. What is to say Geno cannot at least grow and be the best option on a team with clear QB issues?

Sure, he will have rookie mistakes but do any of you other Jets fans think this is the year they do anything other then finish in the bottom 1/3 of the league? :mindblown:

i stopped reading after you said think he's like Welker and saying "he's always open."

You said that. I watch film on dude. He's crafty and finds a way to find or create holes for himself in be middle of the middle of the field often enough to say that he's reliable and is a good receiver. You're the one stuck on leaving yards in the field against him while bringing up a guy that averages 6.1 YAC yards as elusive.

Stop it man...stay in your lane

WCO is built under center.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. The QB is the most important part of the offense. If he doesn't do well, the offense will fail. The best system allows the QB the do what he does best, and doesn't try to force a QB into a system. I feel the former is what Washington did with RG3 last season. They run a pistol read option similar to Baylor's. They tailored the system to RG3's skills and experience, putting a square peg in a square ole.

Meanwhile the Jets are desperately trying to fix a square peg (as of right now) into a round hole. Jets' management is horrible.

Excited to see Kerley on PR. He's really good...just needs to catch the damn ball. Too many fair catches last year bc of him worrying About fumbling.

The Yay
its gonna be interesting to see how geno does

as a proponent of him sitting, I can nonetheless understnad the 'we suck anyway yolo' attitude lots of jets fan have...its just that I think when he fails (not if), a lot of team's shortcomings will be inevitably blamed on him.

Even Brady goes into the shotgun a significant percentage of the time in NE. The Jets are a dumb team. They don't have the QBs to run the WC properly. They should look to draft AJ McCarron next year. A game manager that makes quick decisions from under center and doesn't turn the ball over is what they need to win games.

Anyone and everyone who says Geno is not ready to start.

And how could he be ready to start when he hardly played under center in college?

What makes the Jets think Geno would succeed? Change your offense to suit your QB.
