Anyone and everyone who says Geno is not ready to start.
He isn't... and the reasons are made clear with his mechanics. Yet that doesn't equal saying he shouldn't start. No one says he shouldn't.

He's not ready and is starting anyway....and every Jets fans KNOWS they're going to be in the bottom 1/3.

I don't get who you were debating or astonished by.

Good luck to him. I don't think this will end well. Hope I'm wrong though. But I don't think I will be

And how could he be ready to start when he hardly played under center in college? I think Geno played almost exclusively out of the Shotgun.

The point is it does not matter if he is ready or not. The only way we will see what Geno can do is if he plays. The other options we have at QB are just as bad, or worse. Who cares if they go 3-13 this year with Geno at QB or 5-11 with someone else. I would rather get Geno the experience. We ain't winning anything this year except an early round draft pick, so let's at least get a new face at the QB position and see if he can do anything.

Throw him into the fire and see what he's got. These rookies are coming in and playing right away now

Wake.
#blackmediocrity

Let's pray Cam, Russ, RGIII and Vick have good games or the black QB movement might be set back this week.

The mindblown was added to dramatize the post. I just think it is funny people in here commenting Geno isn't ready when we clearly have no other valuable options.

His footwork is so off...idk...but there really isnt much of a choice I guess.

He needs more time getting acclimated under center. Mechanics can be fixed...just not optimal throwing him right into the fire.

And he'll still be better than Sanchez.

But he isnt.

And they gave explicit reasons why (mechanics). Why can't you separate us saying he isn't ready from a mechanical and experience stand point to no one saying "he shouldn't start"? because of the obvious lack of options you're bringing up? :what:

Excuse me if I misspoke. :comeon: Geno should start regardless of being ready or not. That is the point i was TRYING to make....

We knew that already!!! :heh: why should that us from pointing out the things showing he isn't ready? No one questioned whether he should start. Smh

Smart coaches put their QBs in the best situation to succeed. After drafting Geno, the Jets had to know he was going to start eventually. They should have started adding shotgun plays into the offense and slowly transitioned Geno under center hence. Instead they are throwing Geno into the fire with less than half the preseason reps he needs to get acclimatized to a new system. Geno isn't getting the chance he deserves.

does anybody think it could potentially hurt his development to 'throw him into the fire'?
