Unfortunately the rest of the album is so bland especially production wise.…. Sounds like a bunch of watered down versions of “Saturday Night” or “Wu Banga”

The roll out and hype attached to naming it after a classic created expectations that he couldn't follow through on unfortunately.…. You can't tell me that any of these beats make you feel like its only something you can find on a GFK/Wu project and that's what's missing...that differentiation from all others… he should have kicked in with conductor or let W$G executive produce because it just doesn't give me anything noteworthy to walk away with

I know he's done great albums without RZA...id argue his catalog is top 5 generally speaking but this was too important of a project to just bring in the B team to handle… should have had more care

Im on my 8th listen of this.

I’ve settled on this being a messy but good Ghostface album.

Calling it Supreme Clientele 2 seems like an act of self harm.

It only detracts from the good points about the album itself.

Odd, odd choice from Ghost.

Promo can go both ways. Lots of people not gonna check for this coz of the heat.

And it won’t be remembered fondly…when it would have been had it been called something else.

This album fire to me. Not sure what the hate is. nikkas say it needs RZA but claim he trash at the same time :yeshrug: nikka spitting and having fun.
Not necessarily RZA's beats but his penchant for cohesion/putting together a good project. RZA still has a great/creative mind

Ok I bite.

This album shouldnt carry the name SC2, as it's more Pretty Tone. Half the album felt like throwaways while the other felt like modern Ghost washness. I can't get fly and jiggy to this shyt like the first SC.

Is it a bad album, not precisely. Washed as hell but tolerable, most definitely.

My main gripe is the sequels in hip hop. It's a corny ass ploy to move records based on nostalgia. come on, the Looney tunes album cover was enough to prove that this album was going to be meh to ass.

I think if he called this Pretty Toney 2 it would make a lot more sense stylistically

I don't think that album has much of a legacy but I enjoyed it. This one reminds me of that

Metaphysics sounds like a leftover from Pretty Toney

Ghostface has probably watched these other dudes release lesser sequels and get a pass.

He prob thought it was an easy win to drum up streams and sales.

He also prob didn’t expect the blowback and heat from the reception.

He’s Ghostface, not AZ.

Could have dropped the SC2 name and just called it ‘Blue & Cream’.

Breh the whole album had that Tone steez from the flashy shyt to the dj influence. I would have settled for Pretty Tone 2 if we keeping it a bean as the styles mesh well and the album somewhat is forgotten.

Hell Bulletproof Wallets 2 maybe. But SC come on Ghost :why: It doesn't sound close to that masterpiece.

Doe or Die 2 had legs because it made sense on the level of the first album sounding like a movie. Hell Idris did the introduction so you know that the album was going to be fire.

This album just lacked in so many departments from mixing to consistently. Don't get me started with how Ghost basically playing off of the fact that the Wu is officially retired with that final tour, so let me milk it for what it's worth.

Finally able to give this enough spins to comment but I’d say it’s not as good as I hoped and not as bad as y’all saying. It’s somewhere in the middle for me.

Ghost is my 2nd GOAT MC behind Nas so I was apprehensive about the title SC2 from the start. There are some joints on here but I wish it wasn’t so all over the place with different voices, different era tracks, etc. It seems like a hastily thrown together mix of tracks and lacks cohesion and direction. I agree with many in here about the production complaints. Some of the beat choices are ehhhh but I honestly was expecting that based on the more recent Wu projects, no RZA, etc.

I’m still grateful I get to hear new Ghost so I’ll keep rockin with this for a minute. I like Curtis May, 4th Disciple, Georgy Porgy, Break Beats, Metaphysics and The Zoom right now. I’m sure others will grow on me.

Lol Ghost was actually upset that RZA called it the final tour and doesn’t agree whatsoever that the group will never get back together.

Yeah I liked DOD2.

Was surprised at how much I liked it actually.

Hav and Al will have the production right for Mobb but I'm not a fan of using posthumous verses and reverse engineering songs.
I'm not that worried about the Mobb album. I think a lot of it was finished before P died. They had a Mobb x Alc album slated to drop 2017/2018 but P passed right beofre it came out. They had already started light marketing on it. There was also a fully completed P and Alc sequel album to Albert Einstein.

P had a ton of finished material. I think most of the additions have been from featured artists, and just paying to get the samples cleared. I did hear Alc say that he wanted Hav to have a lot of the production though, and I don't think P and Hav had as much completed music over Hav beats. So, I'm sure they did have to rebuild some songa with Hav beats.

But they've played a couple of songs live that sound fire, and they've played some things in the studio that also sounded fire.

But Mobb is also my favorite group ever so I'm biased.
