If OKC crashes and burns in these playoffs or more-so when Houston crash and burns in these playoffs, they should give MIL a call.

Only thing i don't like is he's 30 but last year was the first time he'd played 70 games since he was 24... and he's not gonna make it to 70 games played this season. Compounded, a lot of these injuries bleed into the playoffs as well.

So he's a guy who plays 65 reg season games with 50/50 availability in the playoffs.
We calling KD

Giannis and the Bucks will break up at some point, as we have to rebuild down the road.

Only way Giannis would join the Lakers is if Jeanie publicly executed LeBron and Bronny on the court, as he has no intention on giving a Hall of Famer more rings to pad.

I could see him teaming up with Steph since they do seem to be cool, but Giannis would be looking around for an Elite Shooter and he would be the Elite Post Player on the team.

Yes.

They also wasted many 2nd round picks on Jae Crowder
.

Jon Horst is praying Kyle Kuzma makes a difference.

And he'll make a difference alright... he'll be so inefficient that he shoots them out of a series.

Kevin Porter might be a sneaky pickup for them though.
One of the more overvalued role players:mjlol:

As long as Jon Horst has been the GM, he really hasn't stood pat in the seasons leading up to and after the championship. For better or worse, he's probably been as active as you can be with transactions. That's how we got to where we are. When he's done here, his legacy will probably oscillate between whatever results we get from the Dame deal, hiring Adrian Griffin (which wasted a year of Dame/Giannis), and "mortgaging" the future via draft capital for a title. In my estimation, the latter is really what matters because we didn't win one for 50 years.

Ultimately, he flipped Eric Bledsoe for Jrue Holiday, which ultimately led to Dame being here. The latter is arguably the biggest trade in franchise history. Plus he's always attempted to tinker on the margins. This season it was Taurean Prince, Delon Wright and Gary Trent. Past seasons, it was guys like Malik Beasley, George Hill, Jae Crowder, Pat Bev or Jevon Carter. Sometimes, those bench/role player pickups work and sometimes, they don't. While I think his drafting is suspect, some of our role players are young, reasonably priced guys they developed like Andre Jackson and AJ Green. Coming into next year, as much as real fans hate to see Khris leave, we have some cap flexibility. Brook's off the books, too. Are we gonna see a Dame-level deal again? I'd be surprised. But I'd be just as surprised if they ran the same team back.
They can't make a Dame-Level type deal even if they wanted to do so as they just don't have the picks or young players to pull it off as Horst mortgaged them all on top of being extremely poor at drafting and player development to where those young guys on the roster don't inspire optimism. It's why I was telling dudes on here to pump the breaks on hyping up GTG because he's trash.

He's tapped out all resources on that roster and those guys you mentioned are going to be the only bench/pickup guys he can get and that's not going to get them out of the first round and where they want to go long term.

At this point, all they're doing is delaying the inevitable.

This my thinking you already a champ. You've done it with the team your are drafted on. Just ride it out like Dirk, you will be forever a legend to that franchise. Perfect career. Doing like Lebron isn't to be desired imo.
worse if he goes somewhere else and doesn't win, that era of his career will be looked at like Ewing in a sonics jersey

Anything's possible. But I think so long as Giannis is under contract, they'll just keep refreshing the team around him and attempting to keep him happy until he expressed he wanted to go. Bringing in Dame has been a mixed bag for a number of reasons: in part, hiring Adrian Griffin, injuries and the previous Big Three not quite coming together because of the latter. It sucks to lose Khris, but letting him go gives us some flexibility in the offseason, so we'll see what they do.

Should there be a rebuild, I don't think we'll have that 90s/mid 2000s malaise. The big difference between now and then is the ownership. Herb Kohl (previous owner) ran the team like a personal pet project; the current ownership is comprised of multiple billionaires who run it like a business. They generally attempt to win and make money (save for the Griffin hire.)
It will be a hard to find a talent like Giannis to keep them from going back to the doldrums for at least a while. But like you said they should keep trying to add and get some younger legs around him. Time to let Brook go move Giannis to the 5 and try to find a 4 who can hit the 3 and play D. They need to try and find another wing too if it's one out there for them to get.
