I have authorized access to a major database as a gift from one of my clients.

This is good thing for a few reasons

1) you can see what dealers are paying for the car at auction. better bargaining with this information

2) you can see what a dealer will get for your car at auction if you trade it in. better bargaining with this information. I got $4k extra for my trade with this info.

3) you can just see what a car is going for at auction if you're trying to find a good deal and know someone with an auction license

It's best to just send me a link to an ad on craigslist, autotrader, ebay or your local dealer. But if not just give me the info.

ONLY ONE SPECIFIC MODEL YEAR.

All I need is

Year (required)
Make (required)
Model (required)
Trim (if available)
Miles (if available/concern)
Region of the country you're located in (Northeast, South, Midwest etc) for a more accurate price
- example (SUV's do better/more money in colder places than they do in Florida)

I'll do the first 20. No guarantees after that. some positive rep would be nice in return :jawalrus: but not required.

2003 lexus ls 430
80k miles

Here goes the last few sales that match what you're looking for. Date attached.

04/30/13 NORTH CAROLINA Regular $8,800 143,139 Avg BLACK
04/30/13 DENVER Lease $12,700 82,585 Above GREEN
05/01/13 PITTSBGH Regular $13,000 73,699 Above BLACK
05/01/13 DALLAS Regular $15,000 56,376 Above BLACK
05/01/13 DALLAS Regular $12,000 88,104 Above SILVER

These are the lowest miles closest to what you're looking for in the last 2 months. Getting this car at those miles is tough. Most of them are like that first sale HIGH miles for 5 figures.

Let me know if you need anything else

Also notice that most of these are in above average condition. While most of the high mileage are in average.

$11,300 dealer auction cost in above average condition with an estimated retail of $15,200

Just a note to people.

  • Cars that are more popular at the auction have more data than other cars. So I'm providing the most relevant available data.
  • The differences between Above Average, Average, and Below Average condition are subjective. So I can't really tell you what makes each what

Toyota
FJ Crusier
4WD model
50k + miles
Northeast and Midwest please

50k is actually high mileage for this car at this year. So what I'm going to do is just look for recent transactions, which will be a lot more helpful, instead of giving you averages.

Only two in the last few months in the Northeast
05/02/13 PITTSBGH Regular $27,200 32,453 Avg MAROON
04/10/13 PITTSBGH Regular $24,800 34,798 Avg GREEN

Nationally
04/23/13 PORTLAND Regular $24,000 40,590 Below BLUE

Barely any data on the 2011's at auction. Not many have been sold. So here goes some 2010 model data. I'm picking out only a few auctions with relevant mileage.

2010 FJ Cruiser

05/03/13 PA Regular $23,000 44,009 Avg GREY
05/01/13 SAN DIEG Lease $21,600 82,392 Below CREAM
05/01/13 DALLAS Lease $23,900 47,544 Avg BLACK
04/30/13 HOUSTON Regular $23,600 54,792 Avg BLACK
04/24/13 ATLANTA Regular $23,600 51,144 Avg GREY 6G
04/09/13 PORTLAND Regular $21,500 67,715 Below SILVER
04/10/13 PITTSBGH Regular $23,900 56,262 Avg WHITE

$23,000 is the average for a 50k mile 2010 FJ Cruiser. Take $2k off for each additional 10k miles. Interestingly the prices between the 2010's and the 2011's aren't too far off from each other. No clue why.

Also just a sidenote: my uncle was a major case unit detective and his favorite UC car was a FJ cruiser. Nobody had any clue that he was undercover when he was in that thing.

54k miles is crazy low. Just as an example the average mileage for this car going through the auction is: 119,292 with a going price of $7,486

Based on auction data for 54k miles

54,000 miles in Average condition: dealer auction price is $10,500 with an estimated retail of $13,560

In above average condition the same car is $12,550 dealer auction price and $15,600 retail

It's tricky to determine what puts a car in above average condition. The $2,000 difference is huge if you're buying or trading in a car.

I'll tell you from personal experience...I treated my 03' G35 coupe like shyt. Had it for 6-7 years. It was in below average condition. But only had 50k miles on it. I got exactly what I wanted for it anyway. These cars are extremely popular and hold value like crazy.

Thanks

This ones going to take a little more time since you gave me a 3 year span but I promise I'll get to it by tomorrow afternoon. Any particular color that you're looking for? Color matters in specialty cars like that.
