Yeah they're not the same, choosing between the two main parties in all western democracies is like choosing whether you want to lose a hand or lose a foot. You have to decide which one, out of two horrible choices, is less harmful. In a healthy democracy you would instead be making choices that are like, do I want a million dollars in cash or do I want it in property - which one, out of two good options, is more beneficial. When people say they're not voting it's because they're sick of how fukked up the system is and they're sick of having to decide between losing a hand or a foot
