It’s a goddamn pandemic !!! Draconian measures are absolutely necessary. That’s why numbers are receding in China and are negligible in Taiwan. Look at Alabama these fools are refusing to test anyone - that’s your American alternative.So you're going to ignore that the Taiwanese gov't tracks the phones of it's citizens? I watched abt 30 minutes of Fox last night (Hannity and the lady after him) ....
They said the republicans are against the bill because
1. Something abt the Hyde Amendment and abortion
2. "Socialism" that extends some type of benefits beyond just corona victims.
It can be hard to follow them because they're more focused on kissing Trump's ass and making shady comments than actually informing people . (Hannity was trying to connect illegals at the border, China, and corona)

I'm saying yes-- theoretically we could have had a similar response-- but that would require a complete restructuring of what America literally stands for. Would you vote for your gov't to have the power to track you at their discretion?

In exigent circumstances the government must be disruptive. Again look at China. They are literally barricading people with the virus in their homes against their will. Is this morally acceptable by western standards? Of course not but do you want to live.
