Just depends , using your main debit/payroll card online, gas station, Restaurant etc, is a no for me

my city has Extreme carjackers and stick up kids,
Gas pump scanners, dont forget the online Data breaches,

1. have A secondary debit card with less money on it to use in Public and online

2, Credit card

3. If you get scammed or jacked with a Credit card your real money will not be in a bind.

The Reason Why People Like Dave Ramsey Advise Against Credit Cards Is Not So Much Cause They’re “Evil” It’s Because The Average Person Simply Does Not Have The Mental Fortitude It Takes To Properly Use Them As Everyday Tools

You Guys DONT Know Someone On Here Well Enough To Laugh And Say “You Still You Debit Cards!? Hardy Har Har!”

There’s People Here That Are Financially Savy, And Who Claim They Pay Off Their Balance Monthly Who Still Allow Themselves Cheats On Big Purchases On Some “Well I Can Pay It Off In 4 Payments” shyt

So Could You Imagine What Someone With No Discipline Can Do?

Can You Imagine A Personal Trainer On Day One Saying “You Know You Can Eat Big Macs And STILL Lose Weight Right?” :shaq:

Is It The Truth? Yes, But That Takes Discipline , You Don’t Just Tell Any Old Fattie That Or It’s Setting Them Up To Fail
You listen to Dave Ramsey? Why?

I think you need to re-read my post.

I asked why should one with good credit and financial discipline use a debit card over a credit card. Even if you ignore the perks/points/cashback etc.. there's an extra layer of security and convenience using a credit card over a debit card, ESPECIALLY when travelling.

If your debit card gets compromised/lost/stolen, you've now lost access to YOUR money until you get a new card. You lose a credit card, you've only lost access to that institution's line of credit until they ship you a new card. You still have access to other lines of credit via other credit cards and you still have your debit card as a fallback.

Actually if you call your bank if you lose your card/hacked, they freeze the account right then & there.

Besides like other posters said, I check my accounts daily. So if their is any funny business going on, I'd catch asap.

Explain to me why, unless a person has really fukked up credit(and even then, there are ways around this for the most part), should anyone in 2021 still use a debit card over a credit card.

If you’re referring to monetary discipline, then yeah, I can see why, but thats a personal thing.
Yeah but those people should carry cash

I can’t believe this even has to be explained.

There’s absolutely no reason to use a debit card unless you are pulling cash out of your checking.

Using it for day to day purchases as opposed to a credit card leaves money / rewards on the table.

I don’t know a single person who uses a debit card

I'm seriously, SERIOUSLY baffled at why this had to be explained. I've maybe used a debit card for purchases like 4 or 5 times in my entire life, and it's usually cuz I mistook it for my main credit card when I take it out my wallet.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe cats don't have the savings or discipline to pay off a CC balance every month. But I'd never trust a business with my own fukking money. I get charges removed from my CC fairly often. Even do it on legit purchases I've made :lolbron:

Good luck getting a bank putting money back into your account.

Budget your chips and this isn't even debatable, your income level is irrelevant.

Had an issue with a Marriott hotel. Charged me twice, but it was on their credit card. They reversed that charge with the quickness.

if you have the means and self control, make debit card purchases with a credit card and pay it off throughout the month. Will help your credit and provide some protection. You will also earn perks for other things.

:troll:
Man I have to do it the same day - aint no way in hell I'm lumping all those charges together at the end of the month. My discipline ain't like that.

I'll have 5K balance :sadcam: with 5K in my checking :takedat:
