These establishments Dems are a pure disappointment they only care about keeping the status quo intact.
i use to think the same way. but the truth is the truth. there is this thing call the LAW. if you let this clown skeet skirt all over it. the next clown will be able to do the same with zero repercussions. even if the republicans dont do anything. doesnt matter. you have to bring the dude up on charges. its the same thing when a black man gets shot in the streets with no gun to be found. even if the cop will get off on a blue lives matter technicality. the shooter still needs to be brought up on charges.
if you read the report and listened to mueller. he punted to congress for precedent reasons and he wasnt sure it was legal for him to bring trump up on those charges but he knows its legal for congress to do so. there is all sorts of HARD evidence in that report alone let alone the other stuff thats out there being investigated by different groups within congress.

One silver lining from the impeachment vote is that I've seen a number of reps mention that they were a no vote but would support an inquiry which would get the ball rolling and also actually call attention to all the stuff America missed by not reading the Mueller report. I have a feeling they'll hold off until after the Mueller hearing to test the waters on going into an inquiry.
This is why that hearing will be important. A lot of people didn't read the report, so even though Mueller has said he'll only talk about what's already in the report...a lot of people will be exposed to that information for the first time. An inquiry and the spectacle surrounding it would serve to bring a lot of people up to speed.

The idea isn't to move republicans, it's to galvanize the voters who stayed home (and also the chunk of people who were on exit polls saying they didn't like either Clinton of Trump but disliked Clinton more, those voters had a pretty clear impact in swing states according to some data I saw Dave Weigel tweeting out).

Trumps wore out his welcome, impeaching him nets him no new voters it only gets him back to his peak. Doing nothing guarantees lessening your own base turnout.

We don't need to make compromises with a group of voters that make up a rapidly aging 25% of the population.
The establishment Dems have completely failed by any standard they may have set forth for themselves, and the younger liberal voters who are dealing with the fallout of this are not going to be mobilized by more of the same.
The Dems will win by increasing turn out by inspiring people and making them hopeful for change.
