I'm all for it. The college industry is out of pocket nowadays and they need to be humbled in the worst way. It takes way too long to complete degrees just for the sake of 'time spent learning' and it obviously costs way too fuccin' much.

I remember my freshman year of college (went to a top 25 big ass university) they over admitted a crazy amount of students and had a lot of them living in hotel rooms off campus. So the lack of housing and PHYSICAL buildings was a legitimate reason for tuition prices and low admission rates.

Online classes were supposed to help solve this problem. But instead colleges and universities maintain scarcity and low admission rates so they can keep tuition sky high.

The Harvard's, Stanfords and even the UNC (chapel hill) of the world need to use online tracks to increase admission rate and significantly drop tuition rates. They can still keep their admission rates limited to the top 20% of applicants and x5 their admission rates /enrollment and make the same money even though tuition is now $5k-$10k a year instead of $40k-$50k

Those aren't engineering jobs then That's some technician shyt (not that there's anything wrong with that)

This will only apply to some jobs. You'll never be able to "Google degree" proper Computer Science or Mechanical Engineering, because a proper understanding of the fundamentals is key. And color me a traditionalist, but I don't see anything wrong with making sure college graduates have a basic grasp of culture and ethics and other subjects not directly related to their profession :yeshrug:

Seems like this certificate stuff should be appended to the trade schools we currently have. You can be a plumber or a basic coder, or go to college.

Those same Engineering Technologists and Technicians sit right next to the Engineers doing the exact same tasks, and making the exact same money. So in the end, does it really matter? :manny:
