Those same Engineering Technologists and Technicians sit right next to the Engineers doing the exact same tasks, and making the exact same money. So in the end, does it really matter? :manny:

No they aren't. They make good money but the earning potential for the two careers is different.

I agree. All these electives and writing essays are annoying ASF

You need to know how to write and express yourself.

Also, for a lot of people, college is a formative time in their lives. Learning should be, and is more than what you need to know in order to eat. I was an engineering major but I enjoyed studying African American literature, ethics, philosophy, and other non-major topics. It makes you more rounded IMO.

Once you get to the master/PhD level.. ok specialize in your subject.

You have no knowledge of what you talk about. I worked in these industries and know plenty of people who are Engineering Technologists making the same if not more than Engineers

Yeah fk college even though I graduated it’s a sham. Colleges are just in business to make a stupid amount of money off their customers (students). $1000 for outdated and useless unneeded textbooks, stupid money for room and board and shyt ass cafeteria food, and the quality of the teachers educating has been in decline for decades since the erosion of tenure track professors don’t exist anymore.

It’s needed a shake up for a long time, I might actually go after that project manager cert just to round out and already good 15 years worth of a management resume I’ve built.

:stopitslime:

I work in Aerospace.

If you stay in a role for 30 years you'll clear 6 figures eventually as a technologist. As an engineer you can clear that in 10. Plus you can rise to a director, VP, chief engineer role... Ain't no one placing a technologist as a VP :mjlol:, they don't own design or analysis. They pretty much do what they're told by engineers, how can they earn more?

So basically you've lived in your bubble and no knowledge of the outside world :mjlol:

One dude I know who's an Instrumentation Engineer technician making over 130k right now
Another dude who's Refrigeration Controls Engineer who made 80k after 6 months
And another PLC/Scada Engineer technician making over 100k

All cleared 100k in under 5 years. The Instrumentation Engineer Technician is only 26 :russ:

Stop it breh, there's plenty of money being made out here.... outside of your office :mjlol:

This is like old school "on the job training" shyt. They just teaching you what you need to know, giving you a certificate that only they will likely honor so you can work for them.

Which isn't bad really.... I mean, if you want to work for google and make those salaries, give them 6 months and $300 and BAM you can apply and get the job.

Guarantee you no google executive will allow their kids to replace a college degree with this.

Who the fukk cares? This should be used by low income people who have no degree to get in the door to making 80k+ a year so they can also send their kids to better schools. This is building from the floor up. Noone should have a problem with this shyt except cacs and Republicans maybe.

If technicians making more than engineers at the same company with the same length of service then something's off :manny:
