Damn man this thread got me about to tear up

I remember when my dad would say he would come pick me up to spend time and he never showed. He'd call a few days later talking about how he was sorry :mjcry:

:wow: thought some shyt always came up and that was the reason why he never came around.. come to find out a few years later from my sister that id be super sad waiting for him at the door all weekend ... and he only lived 5 mins away :mjcry:

My dad would sometimes come by every other Saturday. He would spend the time throwing random life facts at me for a few hours, ask me why I look weak (I got two meals a day, lunch at school and a small dinner, mom was always depressed so...), get better grades, then drop me off to mom.

Long distance parenting :mjlol:

shyt, I need to exit this thread :mjcry:

I'm happy that most of yall got through it and became better people though.

I'm still going through some bullshyt but I'll keep that to myself:francis:

This needs to be the #1 priority for black men. We need to put fatherhood as the most important thing in our lives. I'm amazed at how nikkas try to downplay the lack of father's in our community though. Why do we like to be in denial knowing damn well most of us and our friends didn't have stable father's. My biological father wasn't in my life. He was locked up for 10 years and got out and didn't really try to communicate with me. Thank god for my step pop RIP. He came into my life when I was 10 and been there ever since.

There are plenty fatherless white people too
Or are u saying only black men fail to raise their kids :Trumppls:

nikkas in here saying how they feel about NOT having their fathers and you in here calling them fags and shyt.

I'm so glad your parental guidance was on fleek for childhood but don't be fukkin petty then play dumb.

I feel u op.

I've always been in a purgatory when it came to my dad. Parents divorced at 1. So essentially they were never together to me :yeshrug:

I always felt bad about it but I had too much love for my boys who didn't know they dads. I felt my pain couldn't compare to that and held it in. I still do honestly:francis:

I'd rather my heart care about others in worse situations than mine own, idk if that's healthy or not but I'm content with it
