Ehhhh....
This is an odd comparison because Nas is light years ahead of Guru at rapping but Guru had the benefit of 90% of the time working with one of the best producers in history.
You very rarely hear people (I mean our age) quote Guru bars, it's more the whole package of him saying whatever (not wack, but also nothing mind blowing most of the time) and Primo beats.
So even if I could agree with this statement, it's only partially due to Guru. If it was Gangstarr vs Nas that would make a hell of a lot more sense, because a decent chunk of that package is Premier.

My whole schoolbus used to quote Ex to the Next and DWYCK word for word at the top of our lungs and his quotes are probably scratched into more hip hop records than anyone.
We loved them both, Premo got more popular as he began to branch off and make beats for other people but we always loved Guru.

Obviously back then, I mean now. When people our age talk about quoteables Guru is rarely if ever mentioned outside of a couple bars.
Nor is he ever in any GOAT discussions. The sole reason his catalog could potentially stand up to Nas, is if you take into account Premier. Which is why I said the wording is weird.
