Yeah I don't do more than 3 plates, mainly because after loading up 3 plates it becomes tedious to deload.
I don't do it any more simply because I didn't get a better workout. I lift for functional strength and aesthetics, not for powerlifting PRs. I also don't get much better of a workout with more weight especially since I don't use a weight belt or knee sleeves. If I want to kill legs, I throw pistols in between sets and do the real damage on the leg press. Squats are in the S+ class for snapping your shyt up if you ego lift.

And yes, unloading mad plates is trash. I once saw a dude have his bar tip on a deload cause he pulled them all from one side:russ:Do it right or don't do it at all.

Quarter/half squats only developed more explosivenss in highly trained athletes vs full squats. :unimpressed:

OP should have had 2 of those plates removed. He would have a chance.

Leg press and incline leg press machines exist for a reason. Lunges exists for a reason. Hell if you can do a 1-legged squat sure as hell don't squat 2x your weight.
