I peeped the Summer Walker thread. OP is upset a couple posters in there were comparing her unfavorably to H.E.R. so he made this thread as a passive aggressive response to it lol
She's released 4 EPs and then combined the EPs into 2 full length LPs with new songs, how you figure she hasn't dropped a project?
She won a Grammy as well
None of those are major projects and those 2 Lps we're essentially rereleased material , she hasn't a major unreleased album yet. Comparing Eps and previously released material to someone's debut is stupid lol

You can't connect with someone who **acts** and it is an act, like they want to be so unknown and mysterious.
She is too talented to be putting out singles with YG.

you gotta interact with your fans for the music to resonate with them. You gotta build a stanbase to be successful these days

Summer Walker is the Queen of the Ratchets, she empowers that market like none other, because she really about that thot life, shorty was still stripping when she started bubbling. They have similar sounds tho, but their content is on the opposite side of the spectrum.
HER just turned 21 not that long ago, so I think we'll start seeing her come out of her shell more, because she was legit a teenager when she first started getting popular.

SZA's lane is the one that I think is getting cluttered cause she hasn't been able to be consistent after her release.
Summer Walker does the hoe/thot lane better and is more open about it, SZA is "kinda" about that life with her music, but Summer takes it all the way there and it resonates more.
Then you also have Ari Lennox who's ascended a lot since SZA got hot. SZA delivered with her debut, but her troubles performing and the lack of music to come since, is a concern... especially looking at the landscape for the artists who have gotten bigger since she was hot.
They both are better in the mainstream because they are out there with their sexuality more, and are older. H.E.R. had to be a little closeted when she first came out and that's why her gimmick was what it was. Would it have been a good look to have rolled H.E.R. making the same kind of content as SZA?
Why ? Why does she have to conform to the mainstream ?
She's an artist and an instrumentalist not some thot of the moment image artist.
