It’s a new era of music fans. The REAL music fans(and I stress the word “real”) don’t care what an artist looks like. I didn’t know Bobby Caldwell was white until I was in my late 20s almost 15 years ago. I had never saw a video. I still dont know what Kid Hood looks like and I’ve been rapping his one verse for 27 years. I’m not saying Her is the greatest of the great, but done artists prefer to let the music speak for them.

As James Brown used to say about his decades of relevance is that he never ga e the people a chance to get tired of him. Same with Prince, Maxwell and D’angelo. I swear Dangelo and Maxwell are 2 of the laziest, talented artists ever. But when they drop an album, every 7 or 15 years, it’s hot, we listen and their shows are packed. Business 101. Oh,we love the proverbs 31 aura of H.E.R and would never steer her down that path. I would hope thats not the demographic she is after.

Shes an RNB artist,you can have fake relationships within your music if its believable. And maybe her problem is authenticity due to her persona.


Im more focused on the music. Talent may not sell as much as toxicity. But it doesnt seem like shes even Jazmine Sullivan in stature. Jazmine Sullivan never feels "forced". She pops up,drops a banger,sings her ass off. People are so happy to see her make a return,then she dissapears for another 5 years.

You might be young and dont remember the era where Prince was Young Thug before Young Thug. "Pretending" to be fruity for shock value sake. He seemed to have toned it down later and got a rewrite due to a younger,softer,androgynous,more eclectic generation. The streets wasnt fukking with Prince until later. If you compared him to Michael you would probably be spit on. So it wasnt just the weirdness,because Michael was weird too. But Prince aint have the cache for his antics like Michael did.
