That said, she definitely has a strong team in her corner and has a "not like the others" square-ish appeal like Chance did. Definitely doesn't have a cultural impact like some of her peers despite her many accolades

I like her music and wish her well, she's not particularly interesting in terms of her persona, but maybe that's okay? If her goal was to maintain as many accolades and checks as possible without completing ruining her regular life I'd say she did a pretty good job

I’m just explaining why she’s not super famous. When she came into the industry she wanted to be low key. Maybe that’s what she wanted.

This is for people wondering why. But honestly, her music is in a grey area. She doesn’t a core audience. Her music isn’t in heavy rotation in black radio, and it’s lost in the mix with other artists and genres on white radio stations.

This is probably the best way to be in the music industry. She works consistently, is recognized with major awards, and isn’t degrading herself. Win/Win.

her best bet is to lean into the southern California jazz and R&B Renaissance …,do a joint project with Thundercat or Anderson and the free nationals (or their producers) or a act with a sound very similar to them.

But you're basically saying she's too musical and needs to join up with some people who will make her even more musical. I'm sure she'd make good music with Thundercat and Paak but it wouldn't be popular. Just seems like she's a throwback from an era that doesn't exist anymore. These chicks don't give a shyt that she plays instruments. They want her shaking her ass in Saint Barts talking about fukk my ex. The target demographic doesn't want love songs or ballads, they want shyt that simply doesn't fit her personality or talent level.

I'm not making this point to say "oh she's so much more talented than everyone but they're too stupid to understand it" either. I'm just saying the wave she's on is just the antithesis of what's popular today, and when she tries to jump on the current wave it sounds inauthentic. I feel the same about Normani, Halle Bailey, etc.
