Seeing what happened to Canibus in real time was amazing. Dude came outta nowhere and was running the underground with the freestyles and features. He was on all the mixtapes. Everybody just knew him and DMX had next. He even got into it with a legend and held his own. He was on his way to being one of the goats before he even dropped an album. But then the album dropped and that nikka has been a footnote ever since
:heh:
His debut album was dope not as bad as people say it was. Mic Club from a pure lyrical level is one of the best I heard :whoo:

I wouldn’t include Hammer in this. He actually had a nice run no matter how people feel about his music. He put out hits from 88-94
90-92 he was on top. In 93 already nobody wanted to hear him no more

Iggy Azalea had everything in 2014. Two of the biggest hits that year had her name on it, people were trying to start a rivalry with her and Nicki Minaj. Everybody was worried about white people taking over hip hop because that was the same year Macklemore and Ryan Lewis won all those awards.

Then 2015 hit and it's like she lost her ability to make people care about her.
After all of the racial shyt that went down at the end of 2014, the rap world just kinda washed their hands of Iggy and Macklemore. It was hilarious to watch in real time.

Macklemore fell back intentionally because I don't think he ever wanted all that attention but Iggy kept putting her foot in her mouth and inviting the negativity.

Ya'll gotta be trolling.

Nas debuted in 1994 and was selling more records in 2012 than he was in 1994. That's 18 years after his debut. Dude has three or four double platinum albums, like four or five more than went platinum and a couple of gold albums. And on top of that, he's considered one of the best to ever do it.

If tables were turned, and somebody were to say Wayne, ya'll would be working over time posting Billboard articles.
Crimson and Gator have the musical sensibilities and passive aggressive aggressive tendencies of 16 year-old white girls, they're not worth responding to.

On an underground level, Boot Camp Clik.

The older brehs on here were saying that within NYC they were as big as Wu-Tang in 95/96...then they dropped that garbage group album with those trash ass Casio demo settings beats and that was it.

RZA fell off pretty hard because he was such a revered producer from 93-97 maybe one of the best 5 year runs ever & then he started making so many wack beats. He still made good beats from time to time for heads like Rae/Ghost but his Bobby Digital persona was wack & he continues to put out wack shyt like that Banks & Steelz album. Sad to say I stopped checking for RZA a long time ago. Still a legend who I will always respect for his prime and all the classic material he put out in the beginning of his career.

Yeah, I remember that whole thing on Twitter. The way she was talking to Q-Tip who was just trying to educate her.

Macklemore definitely put himself in the background. The Grammy situation ensured that hip hop would never accept him, even though he was aware of his white privilege and knew that Kendrick deserved Best Rap Album.
