"The study, published in the American Sociological Review, didn't include same-sex couples. Nor did it address men who choose to stay home with the kids. The vast majority of men without a full-time job in the sample were involuntarily unemployed."

:sas2:

A vast majority is not all... It can include the voluntarily unemployed

:yeshrug: A man who does not work does not eat:yeshrug:

This is laughable... I will let you live in your "young girls don't have ulterior motives" utopia

U don't get what I'm saying because u caught up in being defensive as a woman, most likely one not far from middle age.

I know damn well them young hoes aint gon care bout me. I know damn well they have motives. I said there's no reason to get married not I'm gonna marry a young girl when I'm old.

I aint marrying them young bytches either.

i agree 100%

so why would i get married and work to not only feed myself, but feed another person?

That has been a man's position in the circle of life for ages...

Why would a woman want to permanently destroy her insides and mangle her titties to birth and sustain generations?

Poor you, you have to think of, plan for, and help people besides yourself. How have men done it these thousands of years?:wow:

yea see I agree with you on gender roles

but the problem is that women aren't fulfilling their own role (read the parts in the article about the diff between marriages before and after 1975)

women arent doing the housework, or cooking.

and if a man's position is to be a breadwinner, then isnt the womans position to support her husband and remain by his side as support? not get a divorce after her man get fired

no coincidence the wife initiate the divorce 2/3 of the time , there's INCENTIVE to get divorced with alimony, child support and splitting of assets. every time a couple fight in the back of the wife's mind is the fact that not only can she walk away, she gets paid to leave.

honestly if i was a woman id literally be a HOE and be prowling looking for men to divorce so I can take their assets, i'd be an expert on divorce law state by state with a divorce lawyer on retainer :wow:

Honestly have no clue why dudes wanna get married in the first place

How can u want to be with someone who only wants u when u doing good?

shyt truly baffles my soul
they expect their wife to love and care about them unconditionally like their mother did

ive noticed people can't cope with the idea that no one will ever replace their mom, and when shes gone shes gone :wow:

I think this is where we disagree... To me a man's role isn't to be a breadwinner... A man's role is to be a provider.... A woman's role is to be a nurturer...There is a difference there

A man doesn't get fired on Monday and Tuesday a woman is down at the court house filing for divorce... Sometimes you gotta stop giving a plant water in order for it to grow...

I am financially prepared if one of us lost our jobs but you never know what that does to a relationship until you are in the midst of it.

It's just a tough call

I think a husband should be gainfully employed. If you going into a marriage and working full time and then become lazy professionally; you are not not keeping up your end of the deal.

To me that is a bait and switch...

I had an uncle who had a corporate job before and at the beginning of his marriage. He quit to pursue his dreams of being the next Famous Amos. :beli:

Needless to say, I still don't know what his ass does for a job to this day

:jbhmm: was his name Tommy? and did he date a chick named Pam best friend Cole and Martin

Folks are clearly not understandin' the 3.3% vs 2.5%. It's a year over year number. If you read the next sentence, it clearly says, "In other words, their marriages are one-third more likely to break up."

That's a lot!
