I did this once too, for a job at a bank. My name is a white name too, so it worked out perfectly. I got an interview, and you could see the  reaction on the interviewers face when I walked in

You can lie but do it wisely. List companies you worked for but put fake positions that are related to the position u are applying for. When I was applying for IT positions all my data entry and customer service jobs magically turned to IT Customer service and data analysis positions.

All they can do is verify that you were employed by the company based on the dates it says on ur resume. I think its illegal to disclose details of ur previous employment such as salary, position etc.
I agree. I lied but it was small lies you really can't track and the reference would just tell you I did so you had no real way of checking it.

Lie or exaggerate the truth :mjpls:

I don't see a difference here and yes I exaggerate the truth to the fullest. Companies do it to you so it's only fair to do the same

Say you travel led the country breh. Climbed the rockies, sailed the eastern seaboard, or biked cross country. Some unverifiable shyt that makes you interesting. At my old job I was privy to resumes from some entry level jobs that were highly desirable and all these ivy league student climbed Mt everest worked on an African village or back packed through asia. You weren't out of work desperately waiting, you were finding yourself and accomplishing something and are ready to get going again. Plus they'll think you're white.

I haven't work since Aug & won't be able to work until Aug 2015. I know that if I find a job (inshallah) & they ask me about the year long break in work history Im fukked. I wanted to know if I should put down I went to college for a couple semesters & do they check that shyt :lupe:?
They will check and you will get fired even if they find out later.

It happened to a few people at my gig.

Breh, it is fukking awful out here. Clerical type jobs where all you are gonna do is file papers and take phone calls asking for 3 years experience AND a degree.
:mindblown:WHO THE fukk WORKS ENTRY LEVEL CLERICAL WORK FOR 3 YEARS! If they have a degree, why would they be interested in that shyt?
I remember my mom getting on my ASS about not having a job some years ago. I was a fukking trooper. Get my resume, show up to places, and ask about work.
:camby:"Sorry sir, you have to fill out our online application."
It's fukked up because this corporate barrier is also being used in small businesses now. You literally have to get to know people up top before you apply so you can skip that
silly shyt they will put you through, only to deny your ass anyway. Electronic applications are the worst invention ever for people who need a job yesterday and have no experience
or have a gap in employment. It isn't like you can meet them and show you are a decent guy. shyt is crazy.

Yea, your best bet is to say whatever you need to say, long as it isn't too far fetched, and do a google search on shyt they require and learn fast.
I had a few jobs this past year I walked into clueless as fukk functionally, but took the first couple of days to get familiar and become the applicant I said I was.

If I can do it, 99% of people can. However, the influx of frivolous degrees and this flooded ass job market has them asking CRAZY shyt of you for brain-dead jobs.

To be fair, most of it is to weed out applicants since there are so many, but it is a ridiculous kick in the balls to people who just need work.

"In 5 years, where do you see yourself?"

Mothafukka I can pay this month's mortgage, but I might not be able to next month. I need a job NOW. Let me mop the goddamn floors, please:damn:
:mjlol: @ that last line
