Bmore stand up!
With so much music out there, I always find it funny how people get fed up and “grow out of hip hop”. To me, that just means you weren’t much of a fan in the first place, you just liked the “vibe” of it (which is ironically something corny that casual rap listeners say when they’re listening to awful music :mjlol:)
No ima big fan but everything Is just watered down these days, and it aint just hip hop... it’s R&b, it’s even pop music, tv, movies etc...

I’ve heard conscious and backpack rappers from this generation that suck too

your a little bit over reacting, dont you think?
It will be sad when all the 90's generation will stop for good (Jay,Nas,Snoop,Cube and all of them) - but there will be something new.
Things come and go, the truth? I love this few last years much more than 2005-2010 :picard:
Kendrick is amazing, J.cole is great, Joey Badass is great,
Tyler the creator had a nice run, damn BIG KRIT is awesome...
I know that some of them are 30+, but they are definitely a different generation than the 90's I mentioned earlier.

I think the next few years will get even better... I'm looking forward to 2020 :takedat:
Think about it - musically 60's were dope, 90's were dope - every 30 years there's a new wave (hmm usually based on a different drug)
These new rappers that are in their prime (kendrick, krit and etc) are just the first swallow.

I know I’m gonna get judged for this comment but, it just ain’t the same bro, u just named a FEW good rappers... back in the 90’s u could literally name DOZENS of dope rappers at ANY given time... same goes for soul music from the 60’s-80’s...

Hip hop as i know it existed from 87 to 96. I experienced it in real time starting in 91.
In 97, changes that existed prior really ramped up on the East (Bad Boy), the South emerged with garbage (No Limit and 36) or a new sound that I didn't really rock with (Timbaland and the Neptunes) and the West stopped (Pac, Death Row, Cube).

Still, what hip hop produced in those years (and the outliers prior and after) will hold me down the rest of my life :wow:

No, I’m 34 and turn 35 in a few weeks. Now I do certain things for a living that makes me have to be aware of what’s happening in music, but in my personal life, like most people, after a certain age, new hot music becomes less and less a factor in your life. Like @Long Live The Kane said, you have your favorites and just listen to their shyt.

My parents for example weren’t listening to the new hot R&B acts when I was growing up, they still listened to what they listened to when they were teens and young adults.

Just like the 15 year olds now, more than likely they won’t be listening to the hot new rapper of 2038. They’ll be listening to the guys they grew up on.

Some people have a bit of a love affair with music and don’t wanna part... I’m a screenwriter so listening to all types of good music gives me life, u feel me

Nah ya casual hiphop heads. This ain’t shyt to ya.
The old generation said the same thing about us and gangsta rap.

I will still bump the classic then and current. And will always check for new dope artist. Even if I can’t relate anymore.

This music. I will never not listen to it.

...recorded music last forever tho.

R&B for example. It's not a lot of current R&B that I rock with...old school, motown artist don't really exist any more, but they do on my playlist.
