ne online multiplayer were dudes be respawning 2, 3 4 and some of then 10, 11 and more times is not skill. Any game where dudes can run around full sprint da whole time wit a rpg or noob cannon and 1 shot kill u like its a hand gun is not skill. ne game wit flying in air strikes and kill streaks is not skill.

That game was basically hide and seek, go find a camping spot wit 2 or 3 friends n feast on the idiots running around.

Now i'm not saying it wasn't a fun game, as I thoroughly enjoyed that game. But from the standpoint the OP is talkin, COD aint nuthin.

Halo:CE and Shadowrun are the most skillfull FPS on consoles. Its no coincidence that John Howard was the lead multiplayer designer for both of those games. He's working on a new game for Microsoft. Hopefully its turns out to be good because they're aren't many FPS games on consoles with a large skill gap that takes months to master.

thats not what the op is talking about at all. quake 3 has a lot of these things you mentioned but it takes a lot of skill to play.

shyt just gets boring quick to a lot of people though. 'class based' games, and later games with even more customizable loadouts, became more popular because people could contribute even if they didn't have godly twitch skills

The thing is you didn't need godly aiming or reflexes to succeed at most of the skill-based FPS mentioned. Most of the games are objective-based and winning at the higher levels is all about strategy since most people at that level have elite aim anyways.

But even in a game like Quake where the sole objective is to get more kills than your opponent (in DM at least), a lot of the game is simply about timing of items and having better positioning. All too often the players with the better aim lose to players who are just able to predict their movements better

Uncharted 2... If you was good you'd stand out easily from the rest, would literally with the default load out (AK) end games on my own.

Gears 1 was incredible from a competitive standpoint...Gears 3 was great as well...it's just that the population fell off after the issues with Gears 2...

im glad COD got rid of a lot of the jerky movements of FPS games though, personally i think the mechanics of quake games and stuff like that would be extremely goofy in a game like COD, i don't like when dudes jump around all the time, watch those quake videos the dude is skipping the entire match straight weirdo steez.

I think ppl forget that lots of the bad stuff in these games is the result of the people who play the game, like poster mentioned dudes will go on call of duty with a bunch of friends and camp and kill everybody, some people don't give a shyt about dominating the video game but just want to play solo 1 on 1 type matches, like when i play with my friends its no travelling together and taking advantage its just solo going on your own. People forget that playing video games is all some people do lol, im sure we've all watched those type of dudes play and they are button mashing the entire game, palms sweaty as fuk controller drenched, they are ABOUT that game and they must win and will do anything to win it, u can't really compete with those guys if u are casually playing. Some dudes 4 feet from the 52 inch headset on as my friends used to joke dudes "become one" with the game right into that shyt.

all you said was basically reaffirm that casual fans want casual games :manny:

but the thing is, you could enjoy a quake match casually. its just it took some skill to become better at it. its like different level for people who put in work.

and no gay ass cover systems :pachaha:

Not really anymore becuz a SKILL based game would exclude alot of people from playing. I always ask when an new FPS comes out, "yo why is their an auto aim function in the options" :heh: I ask why they would even put this in the game.

Well the reason is simply money, like most of the time.If a game takes time and practice to learn, most people wont bother. The more casual players, more sales.

Cod of course, the main example. I love when i hear cats talking about "im a beast in cod" once in a while you run into someone who might actually be good. But 99% of the time, the stats are so diffrent from game to game, its impossible to tell.

I know ppl who quit the game when they have to many deaths and cry like "fukk this, this game is messing up my KD" . Im like ya breh, cuz you are dying :heh:

Cats take COD so serious, not realizing, the game determines most of the outcome.

The last skill game I remember was , Unreal Tournament, a game where your skill could make you untouchable.
