but yeah man when I was in highschool (mid 90's) they weren't on the radar like that as far as media attention and people false claiming, but of course sht was going DOWN back then too ...now when I went away to college, my mom would tell me how the police were all over the neighborhood that day and dudes running through our yard trying to escape from getting caught...sht like that had happened so many times my mom offered one dude that we knew a bottled water while he was hiding in our back yard

when around they nikkas at times....be worried if I'm about to get jacked or some shyt.

moved to l.a with barely a dime to my name and avoided the Bullshyt.
but that's just my LifestyleDoes violence bring alot of Irish people to alcoholYep. When I was about 11 to when I was 18, had a kid and grew out of it I was heavy into the DYT. We basically fought with crosse posse linty goucho and other young teams because we lived in different areas.
Used to carry a knife everywhere I went, seen people get stabbed seen people bring swords and crossbows to fights as well. Got stabbed in the back of the head myself but I don't think that was gang related, was more to do with football.
I'll say it had a real negative impact on me. I'm constantly wary of people I don't regognise and I'm still uncomfortable walking through certain areas and have been chased a few times. (I'm only 20 so it really wasn't long ago I was involved). It also started me drinking and smoking at a very young age which can't have been good for me.
Me too. By the way of the burbs. So Idk bout that life. We moved from Harvey to get away from that.I'm from the South Side of Chicago
You from chicago too?Had a latin king try to flex on me for absolutely no reason. When I was 12
Had some gds threaten to kill me at13(I knew they weren't gonna do it though)
Among many
a nikka could ask you anything on the coli and you'll tell him your life story
Sounds like you're from St.Croix? My Highschool took on a rather radical change around the time the East Coast West Coast media driven shyt was going on. I went in on another thread about that shyt, but it pretty much caused dudes who lived on the Eastern side of the island (Called East End) to beef with dudes on the Western Side of the island (West End) over shyt that pretty much wasn't there the summer before this shyt.
Dudes claiming turf and throwing up the American West Side Symbol like that shyt supposed to represent them and that bullshyt. I wasn't privy to none of this shyt but as a dude living in East End, the first time I got pushed off of a block by some West Dudes and a bunch of other East Dudes saw, came up and starting swinging I was like![]()
. Had this been a year earlier, them dudes would have ran up to see me fight instead of jumping in, but this shyt brought about a sort of retarded camaraderie between dudes, but in retrospect it was all counter productive bullshyt since America back then was seen as some sort of Lifestyle Entertainment Mecca that only a select few people got to go live in. T'was bullshyt brehs, but I never went out of my way to dissuade myself from that shyt and sorta rolled in the East Circles after being upgraded from Clown nikka to "East Man" for a bit.
....shyt all went to seed when they jumped this one dude and broke his jaw, something very serious since we ain't never had that back then. Ain't never had cops come into the school outside of the end of term Water Balloon wars and I wasn't about to get snatched up repping shyt I didn't believe in 'cause I watched BET a few too many times and felt like I associated with that shyt.![]()
