You are overestimating Leon Rose's ability to manage this roster.

When they brought on Mike Brown they said they needed a "championship level coach". That was a dig at Thibs (obviously) and it meant they legit believed they leveled up by getting Mike Brown. NOBODY ELSE thought "this is an upgrade".

You are totally right: it's a coaching issue.

Why doesn't KAT -who was ON FIRE in the ECF last year- get the ball more?

Mike Brown success is him being a pedestrian assistant coach in San Antonio and Oakland + getting carried by Bron in Cleveland all those years.

It was a desperation sign by New York. They thought all these coaches would be available to sign and none of them wanted the job in New York lol. How many coaches did they go through before they offer Brown the contract?

So far, this is not the case of Knicks winning (even though involving KAT is making things significantly better)

This is the case of the Hawks playing poorly right now. An insane amounts of missed 3s and relatively easy shots.

Who wants to sign on with an organization that lets a coach go after taking a team further than they've been in forever.

Thinking about moving on from Thibs after he took them to the ECF for the first time since electricity was invented (practically) was ludicrous, period.

I'm not shocked a lot of coaches passed on this opportunity.

Mike Brown seems to be picked because he's ok to go along with Leon Rose's nonsense more than that he's got supreme coaching skills.

Dude needed to get into a 1-2 hole with the entire city hating him before he realized that MAYBE he should involve KAT.
