No, I pulled the example that most reading this thread would be aware of because of the recent film. Other examples have been listed here by others, and students of history are well aware of the many ways that enslaved Africans who followed Christianity resisted and rebelled.How many examples would suffice? 100, 200, 500?
The same way I said that many Black church folks don't read the bible for themselves, many Black folks don't read and study history for themselves. In both cases people can get easily manipulated.
You don't respect the lives and deaths of the ancestors, by calling them cowards and scared. Maybe among less educated and younger people that flies, but not here and not now.

My dude this isn't hard. Humble yourself and acknowledge truth. As I've said, black people love to lie to ourselves.
Out of 400 years of oppression, you gave me one and someone else a second. And I'm aware of a few others. Even still that's a horrible percentage and it's easy to label them as abnormalities.
It's easy to see christianity is perfect for lazy and cowardly people simply by the teachings. You can scroll your fb timeline and see plenty "god take the wheel", "jesus will fight my battles", and other sayings which explain our "choice" (I see you kanye) in keeping a foot in our ass. We're waiting on jesus to remove that foot.
And as I've said, I will disrespect ancestors if it will advance us. I'm not one to keep the molester uncle a secret out of respect and decency, allowing him to continue his wicked ways. And black people are good for this! Get that truth out here so we can break cycles.

The alternative is us acknowledging us being god in the flesh, a piece of god, or however you want to frame it. Where we realize we don't worship god, why worship yourself?

Most religions have the same tenants such as love your neighbor and treat everyone as you would like to be treated. If those two tenants were a religion in and of itself, humanity would still fukk it up. So you can't go around blaming a religion for every bad thing that happens. It's the people who are going around doing fukked up shyt. Blame them only. Just like guns don't kill people, people kill people. Same concept. A Bible, Koran, knife or gun sitting by itself on a table is harmless.

I think what you're talking about is more so "American" Christianity. (I'll explain later what I mean by that). And even in that I don't agree with "just accept Jesus" phrase. I think you have to look Christianity world wide religion which started in the Middle East (and not the White Man's religion but that's a whole nother thread). For example, in many countries around the world it's pretty much a death sentence. You publicly announce you're a Christian and you could receive severe persecution (i.e. India, some countries in Africa) at the very least. And at the most death. Even early Christianity you could get thrown to the Lions den. Go to less liberal Muslim country and see what happens when you say Jesus is Allah. In China where there are many Christians (many people are unaware of that, not saying you) they have secret churches.
Now, as far as "accept Jesus". That's American jargon, easy believism. Biblical Christianity calls for a radical change of lifestyle where you deny yourself, sacrifice, love your enemies (which in my opinion is Top 3 hardest thing to do as a Christian). It's not about saying some magic words and boom, He accepts you. You have to be willing to love him above all.
