A lot of people are comparing the quality of this movie to a Tyler Perry movie not just me. But, not even Tyler Perry would make this boring ass kidnapping movie. If he did, it would be way more entertaining. There'd be a plot twist that Jeff Wright is Asap's dad who's tryna get revenge on Denzel for doing him dirty with the label not signing Asap. And Denzel's wife would be revealed to be Asap's mom.

Say what you want about Tyler Perry but his movies have a clear story, climax and ending. Spike had no idea how to end this flick, I would have thrown popcorn at the screen but I didn't wanna embarrass the company I was with.
That ending scene was so fukking trash

I just watched a movie where I heard Denzel Washington say nikka more times than every movie he’s been in, combined, since Training Day, and it added nothing to the character and story
i just saw a movie where a 70 year old black man beat he shyt out of someone that’s half his age.
I just saw a movie where a young black man named Young Felon felt his only option was to steal $17.6 million from a wealthy man.
i saw a movie where a teenager had Kamala Harris on his wall.
I don’t think Spike Lee knows how to depict women on his films and I definitely don’t think he likes lower-class people because they were either criminals or former criminals who type “on the lo lo.”
This movie had an out of place and weird music video at the end.
But when I said this was made a Tyler Perry movie, I meant more for the weird pacing, unserious tone, bad acting, plot holes, logical fails and a lot of other poor filmmaking choices. It was done for snooty blacks, but with the same stereotypes dm for snooty negroes.

As far as Powell's beef with Spike - Said Spike didnt pay ppl right and "kept ppl waiting". Says maybe Spike changed, but I guess not since he still talking about his beef with spike today.
