Not around my way at all. The only record that even got played on the radio somewhat was The World is Yours. And that was barely. I used to listen to radio crazy back then. Detroit slept on that album
Of course it didn’t get played on daytime radio. Were you expecting it would anywhere outside of the tristate? Just listening to the radio is a hallmark of a casual fan.

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
That QB Long Island City QB Connection makes my brain explode.
Prodigy is from Long Island. Not from QB. But QB is in Long Island City. But Long Island City isn’t in Long Island. Long Island City is in Queens.

Exactly. It goes. Prodigy is from Long Island because he’s from Hempstead. Which is right next to Queens. Nas is from QB. Which is Long Island City. Which is Queens. Not Long Island. But geographically both Queens and Brooklyn are on Long Island. Long Island University is in Brooklyn. Not in Long Island. Lol

It was given by the china woman, gtfoh

I remember having that conversation with them. I don't remember what I said, and I'm sure I danced around it or apologized, but I was just like, "I really feel like this is a 5 Mic. I want to give it 5 Mics." And by no means was I the only person that gets to say — if I went rogue and said, "This is a 2 Mic album," they would definitely reel it back in and fix it up. But I think my separation from any outside influence affirmed what Jon Shecter, who was the editor-in-chief, was thinking.

And he believed that the whole time. Now, looking back, I know that he felt kind of like, "See, I told you all." And everybody else had to also get on board, but yeah, it didn't feel like that big of a deal to me.

Oh, OK.

Just because I was like, "I can't see what else to rate it, but you guys will decide." You know, "You guys will correct me if I'm wrong." But this is what I believe.

I know Illmatic didn’t connect with Detroit not one bit. Now Biggie on the other hand was voted artist and song of the year (juicy) by my middle school news show. We thought Illmatic was boring keeping it real. The year 2000 is when I finally was able to appreciate the album, but it was not the same as experiencing when it was released
Same with where I'm from in Texas... We never even heard of Nas outside of rap city nobody was checking for that.. BUT NYC will tell you it's the greatest thing since the wheel...even once I went back to listen to it in my 20s I can say it's just alright....stuff I listened to in 94 still slaps to me Snoop , Scarface, Outkast, UGK, Bigge, E-40, all had better shyt out at the time.....and they were all gold or platinum illmatic didn't sell past gold until later on

That's because you guys were too busy listening to ICP in 94

My point remains. Just because they let her get away with it, doesn't mean it wasn't HER RATING, it was.
He got 5 mics from a Asian female

No. It was the Source’s rating.
If it was her rating, others wouldn’t have the ability to change it.

How far did you go in school? Your reading comprehension is abysmal.
