This is what I mean, why hate ff7 for the same reason you love Expedition 33 :francis:

literally depriving yourself
No

Clair obscure does to JRPGS what sqaure said can’t be done to FF.

They got rid of turn based combat for cinematic reasons.
They got rid of overworld maps for cinematic reasons.

FF7 is full of forced walking and squeeze through sections.

Gameplay is frequently broken up for exposition or cinematic angles and story beats.

Coming from OG FF7 to FF7 remake it’s clear they wanted to chase after the “sony cinematic” game crowd.

I wanted a closer to the original remake like the Resident Evil games did.

Clair obscure is getting praise for putting all that stuff back into the game and still having a mature quality story.

Clair obscur also has forced walking sections, long exposition and cinematic breaks and story beats.

and I’d say the combat is probably more mechanically dense in Rebirth than it is in Clair obscur. Turn based simplifies things quite a bit, actually.

Damn, its funny because there’s at least 2 of those games i wouldn’t describe as gameplay first

its weird to me that you’re willing to forgo gameplay in some cases but not others
Avowed is all gameplay.

Claire obscure has the deepest turn based mechanics i’ve touched in ages.

SOM was always all about the presentation.

See how that works. I can enjoy a game and still admit its shortcomings.

This is the problem yall have. You have to stan everything 10000% :smh:

I just posted 5 hours of cutscenes from avowed

I’d say both those games are as mechanically dense as spider-man 2, probably less so.

Any game that comes out on Playstation exclusively whether it's first party or third party.

Basically any game that @The Mad Titan or @MeachTheMonster critiques incessantly, it's probably a "movie" game.

If it's impossible to call it a movie game, then it just simply isn't good e.g. Mid Titan dismissing Astro Bot's greatness.

What's hilarious is that Xbox One exclusive Quantam Break literally had 30 minute live action episodes in the game between chapters and these numbskulls refused to call it a movie game :mjlol:

oh but that was different nephew

No. it does not.

No it does not
and cinematic breaks and story beats.

It has cutscenes like every other game.

My comments you quoted were about remake BEFORE the game even came out. When they showed a highly scripted cinematic trailer.

I agree the game as released has really good combat.

I NEVER said i didn’t like the game.

I said i didn’t like how much they changed it from the OG game and split it into 3 games.

That’s all i’ve EVER said negatively about the game.

You guys just can’t take ANY reasonable criticism.

It’s really crazy

Avowed - 6:07:47

Spider-Man 2 - 5:27:37

You nikkas crazy.

Did you even watch the videos? The majority of the avowed video is not cutscenes.

Thats gameplay. You still have control. You are still making choices.

In spider-man they are literally movies. You have no control over anything you are just watching.

And beside that avowed is a 40+ hour game. Spider-man ~15.

So a at least 3rd of your playtime with spider-man you have zero input on anything going on, on the screen.

This post isn’t proof of what you thought it was……:mjlol:
