Big 12 lowkey killed their conference when they gave Texas their own network instead of a Big 12 Network, they’re the only P5 conference without a TV network.
Not gonna lie. As an OU fan, that was worrisome when that network happened. It could have created all sorts of recruiting advantages for them.

But then, what was great was when we'd blow them out in the RRR and they'd be sitting on the panel post game analyzing the blowout and then were forced to replay it all weekend on the LHN. :lolbron:

Then they started showing nothing but local Austin concerts and constant repeats of the Vince Young USC Rose Bowl. At that point it became a non-threat.

To be fair tho, that network was espns thing, not the Big12. The Big 12 network was/is more or less Fox Sports. I personally don't think thr Big 10 Network is any good most of the time either.

They killed it before that when several of the programs voted against a big 12 network in 2007. Kansas did not want to give up its tier 3 money. People don’t want to talk about that tho.

I was wrong :hubie: but i still don’t think the big ten makes a move on Iowa state maybe Kansas because of basketball but football makes the money
Iowa State is on an upward trajectory and Kansas will always have basketball.

Wait....:comeon:so Iowa St doesn't have the market, but Iowa does? Neither are exactly apart of a big market. Aimes and Iowa City are roughly the same size in population and aren't that far apart.

Kansas basketball is a staple and the big 10 is definitely a bball loving conference. Rutgers football is trash and will never be good, Kansas has more upside in football than Rutgers. So if rutgers fits, so does KU.

Lastly, academic wise, both Kansas and Iowa St are AAU accredited schools, which is on a short list of schools including all of the Big 10 schools
Idk man, Iowa St football is finished once Matt Campbell heads to Michigan. They offer nothing in basketball, baseball, and women's bball.

They are about to have their eyes opened. :mjlit:
Exactly lmao players are going to want to go to winners, if Texas is getting their asses kicked in the SEC their recruiting might actually take a bigger hit. I understand OU at least they have recent success if Texas gets 8 wins in the big 12 it’s a successful season, they’d be lucky to get 4-5 wins a year in the SEC I have a feeling this move would bite Texas in the ass.

Their literally leaving a Confrence where they should be one of the top 2 teams year in and year to got to a Confrence where being the middle of the pack would be an accomplishment.

Kansas football has no where near the upside of Rutgers :dwillhuh:

Iowa State is a coaching change away from the Sun Belt conference. Yes Iowa and Iowa State are similar in market size ..but what is the point of having two fish in a fish bowl ?

Your academic point is a good one but AAU status isn’t the end all be all. It’s about research expenditure. Georgia Tech didn’t become an AAU school until 2010 but they’ve an elite research university forever .
AAU is an academic dikk measuring contest. Nebraska lost AAU status damn near the second they joined . ND isn’t AAU but BIG 10 presidents would not give a single fukk

Kansas and Iowa State are going to be there forever . The BIG don’t have to rush to go get them them . Check the temperature with the PAC-12 on merging ,See how UVA,GT and UNC feeling like ..then if it’s quiet go grab Kansas and Iowa State .You don’t think a school like Duke is getting skittish about what’s going on right now ? Moves will be made

I don't think you realize how valuable being an AAU school is in this conversation. That said, Kansas football has more potential than Rutgers. Why? Because once Kansas State drops, they are the only big dog in Kansas they got A LOT of money. They also make a lot of money off of Football even though they suck.

Iowa State has a lot of value as well.

Check the temperature with the PAC-12 on merging ,
Why do that when the PAC12s tv dealings are damn near on shakier ground than the Big 12s pre OU/UT exiting. Larry Scott was more concerned with getting teams in Chinese households than securing the bag domestically and they’re still struggling to recover from it

That’s the main part right there. TCU will “deliver” the DFW. Baylor delivers you a small town on the Brazos. Advantage TCU.
True but Baylor also has their basketball program which won a chip last year and their storied Football program, not even mentioning their medical program which is one of the best in the country, and they have name recognition outside of Texas no one knows who TCU is.

I 100% know how important AAU status is and we know for a 100% fact if Notre Dame said we want to come the fact they’re not AAU wouldn’t mean anything . Nebraska lost AAU the minute they joined ..I’m sure the Big 10 wasn’t blindsided by that but it’s not a huge issue because they still are a major research university .

As far as Kansas is concerned being the only school in Kansas for football means absolutely nothing . Recruiting in New Jersey >>>Kansas

if Rutgers ever got their shyt together they’re upside is infinitely higher than Kansas” in football

You gotta go thru hell to even get the P12 Network, east of their footprint, it’s not easily accessible at all and it’s a shyt network too. For most of the country that conference is irrelevant now.
