Big 12 lowkey killed their conference when they gave Texas their own network instead of a Big 12 Network, they’re the only P5 conference without a TV network.
Again, and @tremonthustler1 and several other posters have said this repeatedly, NY doesn’t give a shyt about college football and Rutgers football in particularRutgers has the New York market the only reason
Not gonna lie. As an OU fan, that was worrisome when that network happened. It could have created all sorts of recruiting advantages for them.Big 12 lowkey killed their conference when they gave Texas their own network instead of a Big 12 Network, they’re the only P5 conference without a TV network.

They killed it before that when several of the programs voted against a big 12 network in 2007. Kansas did not want to give up its tier 3 money. People don’t want to talk about that tho.Big 12 lowkey killed their conference when they gave Texas their own network instead of a Big 12 Network, they’re the only P5 conference without a TV network.
Iowa State is on an upward trajectory and Kansas will always have basketball.I was wrongbut i still don’t think the big ten makes a move on Iowa state maybe Kansas because of basketball but football makes the money

Idk man, Iowa St football is finished once Matt Campbell heads to Michigan. They offer nothing in basketball, baseball, and women's bball.Wait....so Iowa St doesn't have the market, but Iowa does? Neither are exactly apart of a big market. Aimes and Iowa City are roughly the same size in population and aren't that far apart.
Kansas basketball is a staple and the big 10 is definitely a bball loving conference. Rutgers football is trash and will never be good, Kansas has more upside in football than Rutgers. So if rutgers fits, so does KU.
Lastly, academic wise, both Kansas and Iowa St are AAU accredited schools, which is on a short list of schools including all of the Big 10 schools
Exactly lmao players are going to want to go to winners, if Texas is getting their asses kicked in the SEC their recruiting might actually take a bigger hit. I understand OU at least they have recent success if Texas gets 8 wins in the big 12 it’s a successful season, they’d be lucky to get 4-5 wins a year in the SEC I have a feeling this move would bite Texas in the ass. They are about to have their eyes opened.![]()

I don't think you realize how valuable being an AAU school is in this conversation. That said, Kansas football has more potential than Rutgers. Why? Because once Kansas State drops, they are the only big dog in Kansas they got A LOT of money. They also make a lot of money off of Football even though they suck.Kansas football has no where near the upside of Rutgers
Iowa State is a coaching change away from the Sun Belt conference. Yes Iowa and Iowa State are similar in market size ..but what is the point of having two fish in a fish bowl ?
Your academic point is a good one but AAU status isn’t the end all be all. It’s about research expenditure. Georgia Tech didn’t become an AAU school until 2010 but they’ve an elite research university forever .
Kansas and Iowa State are going to be there forever . The BIG don’t have to rush to go get them them . Check the temperature with the PAC-12 on merging ,See how UVA,GT and UNC feeling like ..then if it’s quiet go grab Kansas and Iowa State .You don’t think a school like Duke is getting skittish about what’s going on right now ? Moves will be made
Why do that when the PAC12s tv dealings are damn near on shakier ground than the Big 12s pre OU/UT exiting. Larry Scott was more concerned with getting teams in Chinese households than securing the bag domestically and they’re still struggling to recover from itCheck the temperature with the PAC-12 on merging ,
True but Baylor also has their basketball program which won a chip last year and their storied Football program, not even mentioning their medical program which is one of the best in the country, and they have name recognition outside of Texas no one knows who TCU is.That’s the main part right there. TCU will “deliver” the DFW. Baylor delivers you a small town on the Brazos. Advantage TCU.
I 100% know how important AAU status is and we know for a 100% fact if Notre Dame said we want to come the fact they’re not AAU wouldn’t mean anything . Nebraska lost AAU the minute they joined ..I’m sure the Big 10 wasn’t blindsided by that but it’s not a huge issue because they still are a major research university .I don't think you realize how valuable being an AAU school is in this conversation.
