How BIG do you see Benny becoming with this Def Jam/Rocnation push he is about to get?

I don't see a market for him. Can't even say his ceiling is Pusha T cause at least Pusha T had 20+ yrs of cultivating a fanbase that aged with him. Benny is new to a lot of people, even old people.

Lowkey the Griselda play was a brilliant finesse. Westside look like he really positioned himself to eat in different lanes off the strength of a movement that has limited marketability or potential growth
I think there’s a demographic of Hip-Hop fans out there that love the kind of Hip-Hop that Benny produces but don’t necessarily know Benny The Butcher. I think Def Jam could help push Benny to reach more of those fans. He isn’t going to reach the young fanbase. I think his push is to reach as much of his demographic as possible & expand his sound & grow, all the while, maintaining his essence.

Most ppl let alone 30+ are not searching for new artists. That’s a key demo from him that goes underserved bc they have to be told what to listen to to an extent

That’s true. It’s all about expanding and reaching out as far as possible & Def Jam gives him a reach previously unattainable. Is it truly even about “blowing up” in the mainstream and becoming a household name? It’s a double edged sword. What can Def Jam do for Benny & his brand and on the flip side what can Benny do for Def Jam. I think what Benny can do is help legitimize the label going forward as a label that is in touch with all demographics and not just fluff.

I remember going to his Halloween show, it was a mixed crowd of races but mostly dudes.. Most of the black dudes seemed to be 32+ and the white dudes were really young. I think a big part of Griselda is the alternative of fans who are tired of "bubblegum, mumble rap". I think he can do decent numbers and use it as a vehicle for money for his shows.

Personally He and his BSF team are very arrogant. Benny was like 2hrs late, drunk and his set was trash reading songs from a paper with no sound check.

I like his music but dude is not humble at all and has the arrogance of a person who has 5 platinum albums. Conway is very humble & Westside can act crazy on twitter but dude is really chill in person.

The only thing that can help him is big name features that'll make his music stream more

Johnny P's Caddy helped him a lot

Roc can help him get deals outside of music to expand his brand and have more money making avenues

He's not doing more than 20K sales first week on an album

Nas is on the soundtrack to the #1 movie in America....kinda confused by your question.

Benny is never going to cross over, he'd be better off trying to reach the fanbases of similar artists.

Fred.

Ok but Nas being on that soundtrack doesn't correlate to that shyt doin numbers breh. Jay/Nas are legacy acts at this point, they can't move the needle in the current climate so Benny getting a verse from them is irrelevant in 2023. He need a YoungBoy or Durk feature or some shyt to get people even remotely interested and I love Benny.

I see more and more white people who weren’t familiar with Griselda now bumping Benny’s shyt so he might be alright

If he could get a Kendrick, Cole, and Drake feature for the album he’d do some numbers

All the people that work at Def Jam now, are old staffers that are used to promoting country and pop records. Problem is, they don’t want to spend.

The Def Jam deal was good for Benny's pockets for today, with his advance. But if he doesn't double what he was given in revenue, he's in for a rough time up there. I still think he should've either started his own label and pushed the projects from that, or just stay Griselda. Def Jam of today ain't Def Jam from the late 80's or 90's.

Pusha T status.. Don't get me wrong like that's a slight.. Pusha does about 80k first week, universally respected, has a long career, can do shows, gets features from everyone, can get a Jay feature whenever he want......

shyt like that... But is he about to be a SUPERSTAR? Nah
He'll never sniff a Pusha T peak, solo or group...

This here.

Benny is really dope at what he does, but he doesn't have the presence and records that Pusha has had. Pusha's one of the few MC's who's been able to stay in their own lane damn near their whole career for 24+ years and not lose their standing in the top tier. That's rare.
