How BIG do you see Benny becoming with this Def Jam/Rocnation push he is about to get?

What's marketable about him currently? All I see is somebody the suits have to water down in an attempt to make their deal profitable. He's a decent rapper but his overall talent seems to have a low ceiling. I don't see this relationship lasting more than 3 years at best.
Benny is too raw for Def Jam. I don't see this working out for a long time.

Ok but Nas being on that soundtrack doesn't correlate to that shyt doin numbers breh. Jay/Nas are legacy acts at this point, they can't move the needle in the current climate so Benny getting a verse from them is irrelevant in 2023. He need a YoungBoy or Durk feature or some shyt to get people even remotely interested and I love Benny.

Respectfully I think you cats can't see the forest for the trees with the numbers talk.

Benny could do a song with Jesus, his numbers ain't gonna deviate from what they are. Cole gave him the biggest song of his career....his album did 20k first week. The album prior did 19k.

So the numbers are not going to happen. He can do a song with Durk, or Shabazz The Disciple, it doesn't matter.

I'm saying the lane he's in, he'd be wise to align himself with legacy acts like Nas or Jay. Whose fan base is similar to his own. Doing these random ass collabos in hopes of gaining a few fans is not going to work, long term.

hes not going to get any bigger numbers wise but im sure he'll experience what will be considered success to his standards, just nothing amazing which theres nothing wrong with.. he should really go full fledge with BSF and push the younger artists under him that might where the true breakout lies

I’m a make a thread later on this but what is the obsession with ageism in hip hop, the culture is only 50 years old , getting older is a part of life , why do we put such a emphasis on age and shyt , according to some of y’all , once we hit 35 we have to stop listening to rap and start wearing wing tipped shoes :russ:

Yea, it is an outdated and quite frankly wack perspective. It’s cool to think that way when you’re 18. As we all grow and expand our knowledge we should always strive to sharpen our sword and since Hip-Hop is a part of most of our DNA I would think that continuing to love the essence & strive to always create & chase for greatness at every turn should be admired. If an MC grows into his 40’s and still makes great music from a wiser man’s perspective who are we to judge?

What I think the vast majority of you dudes failing to realize is that the Def Jam deal is being looked at by Benny as a way to maximize his talent/abilities so that he can benefit the most from what he does. He wants to reach new heights in his career as far as expanding his sound, challenging himself by opening himself up to new chances and the possibility he may be able to create something previously not attainable independently. I don’t think Benny whatsoever is trying to be something he is not. That hasn’t been his M.O. throughout his entire career. He’s not trying to be Kodak Black or Lil Baby.

Exactly, good post..dudes in here like "he needs a drake feature" :childplease:

I dont have high expectations. Griselda is close to being washed. Benny is the only one with any type of marketability and I think it will be good but if he wants it to really hit, he needs to try and give as much of the TT3 vibe as possible. TT3/Plugs1/Burden mix. he really hasnt had many misteps but we will see how he puts it together.....
