Failure? I remember Antonio Gates beasting @ Kent State. Enough talent to be a 12th man in the NBA or play in Europe.
Fizer coming off the edge as a speed rusherLet's keep it a buck and change: Tyrus Thomas and Marcus Fizer would've been Hall of Fame talents in the NFL.

. I can name 5 guys from my highschool who my coach handpicked from other sports and turned them into division one athletes and 3 of them made the NFL (Derrick Harvey, Charles something who played for the Texans and Jared Gaither...all basketball players)As a former football player I've always said football is easy. If you have the physical tools its not hard to succeed.

with that I say,

Most great basketball players weren't trying to succeed on a Division I football level, so this point is obsolete. How many pro basketball players can say they played both sports and failed at one? It's rare because most great basketball players were never even good enough to "fail" on a division I football level. The football players you're bringing up failed up.
In highschool the football coaches would walk through the basketball locker room telling the fast guards to come run routes so he could get them scholarships...N1ggas with absolutely no experience...
One coach told my man Jamaal he should stop playing basketball so he can eat all he wants (kept bragging about the training table at college) and fukk white hoes...

Same sales pitch: "Look how else are you gonna go to college'No....they weren't good enough. Which is why they're not even good enough to sniff the collegiate level of football. Most players go into college where they make those decisions. Most coming out of HS great basketball players never had football as an option because they were never good enough to.![]()

How you gonna call my thread a failure then pretty much cosign all of my points?I can tell you played football, breh. I can smell the bias all in your post.
But you have it absolutely backward. It's not that the basketball players weren't good enough to play football. The football players weren't good enough to play basketball.
Basketball takes much more skill and fluidity. Most football players look awkward and funny on a basketball court. All stacked but can't turn your head without turning your whole torso.
If LeBron didn't posses his skills on the court I'm sure he would have pursued football as a fallback. Who wants to get banged around for less money?
Only football player who could have seriously played in the NBA is maybe Randy Moss and he's as fluid as a ballerina on the football field so that only reiterates what I said before. And even with Moss it would depend on the other thing I mentioned... skills. Can he handle the rock? Can he shoot? etc.
Tony Gonzales was an average at best college player. There was no way he'd make an NBA roster though. Julius Peppers either. Their too short and bulky. They're not beasting in the NBA at six six. At best they'd be a Reggie Evans type. Neither one of them nikkas can dribble, shoot, or pass that's why they play football where those skills aren't necessary.
But ultimately we're talking about 2 different types of athletes built for different sports. :yeshurg:

My bad. I thought this was a @Gator Reloaded thread.
I see you frail cats trying to take it too far. the skills required to play football (other than QB) are more common: running, catching, concussing.
or maybe they were forced to choose bball early and it was an easy decision considering the time and wear and tear that occurs with football. you know how many times the football coach at my high school would come at us bball players like "Please come out and play football next year!"![]()
there's no way you're telling me that an athletic basketball player can't transition into a WR or TE easily. the only issue is if they have hands and the mindset for football. meanwhile, football nikkas try out for basketball and are highly functioning goons at best

you went to Roose... The players you named, you were just before my time though
. None of those nikkas panned out neither, sad.
