The thread is asking specifically about offensive coordinators and people are bringing up other coaching positions. I think OC is similar to how QB used to be/is in that black coaches are dogged by preconceived notions about their ability to be crticial thinkers may limit their success. It's bullshyt.

As a head coach you hire who you believe gives you the best chance to win.
Why do they tend to believe it's a white coach that's going to give them the best chance to win?

Like someone else said White guys get promoted and they promoted their friends or people they are comfortable working closely with to coordinators.

Black coaches are likely micromanaged to a much higher extent by GMs and owners. Bring in to many of us and they think you hiring your friends which actually might be true, but White men been benefitting from that “good ole boy” for years now.

In the decade from 2013 to 2022, only 12 black men worked as full-time NFL offensive coordinators — the same number of Black men who worked as head coaches during that time. Hmm

It doesn't need to be talked about at all. One star. :beli:

Doesn't work that way, that's why. Plus, there's not a lack of black position coaches/coordinators anymore. :why: What is it with cats always trying to start drama between black people? And got the nerve to act like it's only white people doing it? :what:

THREAD TITLE LITERALLY SAYS
OFFENSIVE COORDINATORS....

THERES ONLY 3 BLACK OCS IN THE NFL.

They switched it up and Black coaches were left behind. Used to have to follow a certain trajectory in order to qualify as a HC. Now, just stand next to McVay and you’re getting interviewed. Can’t remember if it was Bomani or Dominique but they mentioned how the path to being an OC is a backup QBs game. And a majority of backup QBs were White and it’s how a McCown or Dilfer get to skip the line and get considered for HC at the pro/college level respectively. Texans Slowik came in the game a defensive assistant in 2011 and moved to the offensive side in 2019 as a passing game coordinator and got an OC gig this past season. Not saying these guys aren’t qualified but when their friends get jobs, they get a promotion on a much faster trajectory than their Black counterparts.

You see the same at the NBA level where some older Black coaches shyt on analytics and they use that not to hire others.

Look at how quickly some of these dudes go from being an actual on the field coach (not QC or grad assistant). Steichen got his first shot a decade ago. Staley got his first collegiate coordinator gig at 27 (not even FBS) and was in the pros by 35 and a HC by 38. Now contrast that with EB. Bienemy been an on field coach at the collegiate level since 2001 and the pros since 2006 and has won two SBs as an OC and you have folks still holding a funky ass DUI he got at CU in 01-02 against him. Game is rigged, no matter how many posters get on here and try to say it’s all in our heads and we’re fixated on race. We can’t all be crazy if we’re all seeing the same thing.

Yup Kellen moore went from backup qb to OC and soon will prob have a hc gig

Well from the collegiate level, it’s frowned upon. I rooted for a team whose Black HC wanted to hire a Black OC and had to settle for a mediocre 5th choice of an OC because boosters didn’t want to foot the contract for a Black coach who is now an HC himself with a super majority Black coaching staff at Maryland. By the end of that first season, you heard fans talking about it being a “HBCU staff” and he’s “hiring his friend,” like these white boys ain’t doing that shyt 25/8. And on the low, some Black fans think just like they do and have less patience just like these crackers.
S/o to Mike Locksley.

The owners wont let a Tomlin hire a predominantly Blackstaff. Bruce Arians can get away with hiring a Black Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator, and Special Teams Coordinator and winning a SB with them.
I would also assume limited talent pool too. you have 10 white coordinators for every 1 or whatever ratio.
