If you're an athlete with dreams of making it to the big leagues you'd have to be a moron to go to an HBCU. Look at the current makeup of the NBA/NFL. How many of them players come from small schools? Let alone a HBCU.
Dudes don't got time to try and be revolutionaries and change the way things are when million dollar professional contracts are on the line. They don't owe HBCU's anything so it makes no sense to take the risk of attending one.
because its just another reformed way of saying:
"you're a sell out for not staying/coming back to the hood"
"black ppl don't support their own"
seriously just go back through this thread and re read it from a community living aspect as opposed to JUST school
)the coaches are ass, the competition is ass, the facilities are ass etc. how much better could florida a & m really be?
waddup bruh? (Rey Negro - IC)
basically. i go to an HBCU & i still wouldn't go to one if i was a 5 star recruit. You got to go to whatever school would give you the best chance of being successful. Sadly, it creates a cycle. HBCUs will never be shyt sportswise because they don't have the funding. And they'll never get the funding because they're shyt sportswise. Still...........it would be a thing of beauty if a handful of star recruits decided to attend one of the top black schools.
what it is family
out chea! lolwhat it is family
weout chea! lol
but nah you're absolutely right....hbcu's get killed with funding
but a lot of it comes from the fact that they don't have the big power legacy alumni to help with funding either
I think we all would agree that it would be a thing of beauty to one day see the top athletes do a fab 5 for an hbcu

If you were a top recruit, why would you go to an HBCU?

and I have made my decision..."
I'm goin to Southern!"

and keep it moving.Actually those white colleges would be likeand keep it moving.
