How did Ciara just drastically fall off?

There was definitely something separating her. Singing ability is neither here or there. Singing alone never made or broke anyone. Great Songwriting and production is required for even the best singers.

What separated Aaliyah from Ciara is:

1) Charisma

2) Forward progression. Aaliyah turned down opportunities to work with titans like Puff on her sophomore in favor of lesser knowns (Missy and Timbaland).

Ciara lacked that cool charisma and mystique and most of her big records relied on trends and tried and true hitmakers and features.

So basically you can’t name anything of note musically that she does clearly better than Ciara? Which is my point exactly. That’s why people compare them, they’re both mediocre talents.
