The only reason you're getting played with these social "expectations" of who-should-pay-for-what and the real-men-do-xyz games is because.you.allow.it.

I'm accountable for being lost in whatever justifications I couldn't financially control with my ex. And I do believe most women have some of the same issues she has---->but not all...

I'm still in a situation where I'm overspending because she's so terrible with money management and she has my daughter's, but it's gotten better since we split in July, and is gradually increasing month over month...

I don't see how dinner a couple of times a month and a few gifts throughout the year will break a man.

I was never broken, in the sense of bare bones, nothing. But I was on a line that I never really experienced in my adult life, my expendable cash and savings were hella low and on average with her in four years, I was spending almost as much as I made...

Only thing that became hard was tracking when and where I was spending y money because things would come up and I’d just be focused on solving them instead of worrying about costs or future.

dealing with my last girlfriend changed my attitude towards money a lot...really towards the better. Only problem is is that I had other habits to control how I did it that I sacrificed in order to operate in the relationship
