In my opinion, I think Lucas is actually a good writer and director. It's just his execution sucks. The prequels were still good fun. They are miles ahead of the trilogy, that's for damn sure!!!

The prequels were bad movies but they had their moments...

Qui gon and Obi wan vs Darth Maul in episode 1

Jedis in the arena battle episode 2

Yoda with the lightsaber episode 2

Mace vs Palpatine episode 3

GOAT lightsaber battle Obi wan vs Anakin in episode 3

Compare that to the trash Disney trilogy we just got...Not one memorable scene or character...

shyt even Jar Jar was memorable in the prequels granted it's because he was terrible and everyone hated him...

No it wasn’t. The beginning act with jabba is trash. Ford is checked out and Fisher is stiff/coked out her mind. The overall plot of the movie was dull and meandering. Only the ending(and by that I mean Luke/Vader not the fukking Ewoks beating armed ST with rocks and other BS)saves it from the prequel levels of bad. This was the first sign that Lucas without input from his wife/other producers is a complete hack

Yea... the dialogue be cringe-worthy. But I am always intrigue of the story of the prequels, because it should how clever Palpatine truly was in playing both sides like a game of chess and how the Jedi were exposed as being too far in their own asses that to realized that they were being played the whole time. Too much ego and stuck on traditionalist rules that they didn't even know they were being taken advantage of until it was too late, and that what alienated Anakin. Qui Gon was the ONLY Jedi that didn't play by the rules of the Jedi Order. Had he been still alive, Anakin wouldn't of never of turned.

And phony character shifts(Anakin was drone and evil in episode 2 so he’s extra nice and helpful in 3 just for the obvious set up of his turn) His turn was abrupt and dumb. And the end battle with Obi is easily worst out of all the cannon. Way too drawn out and silly alongside Lucas dialouge(I’VE GOT THE HIGHER GROUND ) Y’all need to stop trying to make episode 3 more than what it is(extremely mediocre)
