My grandmother, bless her heart (I love the woman) tried to justify enslavement because it brought her Christianity and that the Africans deserved it.

Yes Christians are THAT delusional

You just seem slow is all. The Bible is Christianity not what the pope said. The pope isn't a religion. The pope isn't in the bible. This is a man who's taken it upon himself to make his own decrees because of his position of authority. You can play dumb and not see the difference.
You’re moving goalposts.

you specifically asked how does Christianity hold people back today “Can you tell me how it's harming us and preventing us from. Advancing. Especially in a world that is no longer dominated by the old guard.” Implying the world had move beyond the old guard. Which it hasn’t, because the old guard (Catholicism) is directly responsible for thousands if not millions of deaths currently, not to mention the past crusades.

Then you juelz and go “well Catholics aren’t real Christians” which is a totally irrelevant true Scotsman fallacy and beside the point… the point “you” made, that old guard religions have no negative impact on the world today. Just because you don’t think Catholics aren’t Christians doesn’t mean they aren’t fukking up the world.

The Autobiography of Malcolm X discusses his opinions on Christianity and his reasons for becoming a member of the NOI at length. Specifically, he thought Christianity was used to keep oppressed people down by convincing them their oppression in this life would be rewarded with a “land of milk and honey” in the afterlife. He joined NOI because it taught knowledge of self.

You’re in this thread talking a lot, but not saying anything, :camby:
Seems no different than new age and the mystery religions , which all teach knowledge of self and ascending to higher lvls. Humans will never be ever to govern themselves righteously and justly apart from the true creator and his son.

Catholism is Pagan and literally means universal. They birth Christianity, Sunday sabbath, Holidays like Christmas, ect… as well as the other “Abrahamic religions “. It’s all pagan. Whatever the crusades did, doesn’t excuse anyone else for the sins they commit in this life with repenting and trusting is Yahusha for salvation.

Explain to us white boy why you feel like you have the authority to chastise nikkas on all things black, while being a nikka hating cracka that has no ties to the community, nor have sacrificed anything of significance on your behalf for our betterment?

It is, it’s just disguised as being more structured because of being “Abrahamic “, but it’s still knowledge of self.

So far this is the only post that kinda touches on what I would like to know, but I will ask it.

What religions were our ancestors/ancient Africans were they practicing before slavery?
It depends. Religion in Africa is highly diverse. A lot of traditional beliefs actually did survive the slave trade, albeit they had to re-orientate the beliefs under “Christian” guidelines. For example, Haitian Voodoo is a mixture of African beliefs put through a more Christian lens. Similar to Santeria in Latin America, where indigenous peoples incorporated Christian imagery into their traditional beliefs to avoid persecution. Hence why Madonna is so prevalent in South American iconography, pre-Christianity a lot of indigenous tribes revered maternal deities, so the Mother of Jesus became their new symbol post-colonialization.

most prominent example I can think of is the “crossroads” which are a common theme in blues music. Obviously the Cross is connected to Jesus, but it was re-appropriated by slaves in light of the god of crossroads in some African traditions, Papa Legba, and that all morphed into the story of people going down to crossroads and being given powers by supernatural deities.
