i just don't like the self hate, like black dominicans trying to claim spain as their lineage, yea, ok, that's in you somewhere, but you are blacker than me (which isn't hard) and you gonna act like your ancestors weren't slaves/transported africans :usure:

but yea, yall got a lot of cliquish divisiveness on the east coast, growing up in cali was weird cuz you'd have tongans, samoans, filipinos, mexicans, vietnamese, cambodians, thai, and black folks who all at the end of the day was "nikkas"...it woulda been cool to have ricans and dominicans out in cali

edit: but props to brazilians and afro-cubans & mestizo cubans, in my travels, those two groups really connect with their african roots, take pride in being black, and went out their way to embrace me & my friends as original brothers & sisters by heritage, i didn't feel that in panama or PR

Some DR nikkas is bamboozled there's a stigma about being black in DR. But them nikkas know dey nikkas

i dont think most nikkas take in account that south america had slaves in the first place.

A lot of black americans i speak to swear they were the only ones that endured slavery. So to them we (black caribbean and black latino) dont know nothing about struggle and dont deserve to label ourselves black.

I always tell these fukkas: Black is your race. Everything else is your ethnicity. Blackness didnt originate on U.S. soil. Like us, you're just another branch in this big ol' tree of blackness

Like I was telling somebody the other day, unfortunately people view being black (african ancestry) as something just run of the mill which is why they wanna claim other stuff to make themselves feel special. I think the African diaspora is a beautiful thing but others don't.

I have a black(non hispanic) mother, a white hispanic father. I had blue eyes for like the first couple of months before they turned brown with my hair and my mom would get the :mjpls: look.

People used to think I was adopted because me and her look night and day different. :wow:
