You don't think it's the same with a mother in the house? I've seen cases where mothers can be extremely controlling, questioning everything, if they can't physically challenge the child they throw stuff or verbally berate them, and etc. From my personal experience it really just depends on the parent.
that's definitely true in some cases, but im talking about generally speaking, the mother/son relationship is generally always peaceful

Additionally, I have seen some black parents go out of their way to harm their childs growth. This is especially true when the parent does not have much to their name they go out of their way to mess with their kids. I have a good friend who's father would purposely take her late to her job interviews so that she could not get a job. Some black parents are honestly fukked up in the head.
black parents have jealousy issues, control issues..... or even when they dont they give the same stupid advice that didnt work for them ....i remember i quit some low paying racist job and they were mad at me talking dumb shyt like "thats going to look bad on ur record, any job is good in this economy" like 3 months later I ended up with a new wack job paying way more.....im glad i was smart enough not to listen to older black people...I would be fukked up right now

A lot of truth to this! Yes I have seen a lot of black parents with jealousy and control issues.

I "technically" still live with my parents, but right now I'm chilling at my friend's campus house by school, it allows me to do more on campus and work by school, since I don't have a car. Part of my issue with still living with my parents is that I'll have to share a room with my little brother(s), and can't really do too much because the house is very small (2 bedroom, one bathroom, kitchen +dining room), and you can hear everything that goes on in the house.
If you have your own room, I'd definitely suggest you stay, at least you have a place of solitude.

Hey what are some good tips for working full time and going to school full time? I worked full time last semester and it was exhausting, but I want to do it again when I transfer to University from my CC. Did working full time affect your grades?
I worked as a security guard at night 11pm-7am and went to school during the day. The place I worked I basically sat in front of monitor and watched activities. I was able to get a lot of studying in which helped. It didn't affect my grades but for a year and a half I had no social life basically. It was work and school. Looking back though it was worth it because my income and quality of living is so much better.

Hmmmm yeah I know I will have little to no social life and it will be work and studying the whole time around. I think that I will work full time during my last year at University if I see that I can handle things during my first year there.

i hear you but i couldn't do that...i was struggling and i really could have used that money.
i refused it out of pride.
I wish I would have been there I would have gave you 200 dollars because I know it's hard. I don't know what reason you left but sometimes parents make it hard on their children to even come back by making bets like your dad did saying you would be back in a week. He should have told you to give it some time right from the get go. Not made it harder on you.

Kicked out at 17/18, never really moved back for any significant amount of time since....I slept on the floor at my friends houses, slept in the park bench, couches, guest bedrooms, cheap hotels with itchy pillows and plastic chairs....went through a whole lot of bullshyt, but ended up good.
