The “ceiling” for a Josh Giddey led team is a lottery pick. Let’s be real here. Threads like this are how fans get labeled delusional.
Its like you didn't read shyt in my posts or the poll options. I'm not delusional, I just understand this is the path forward and this is actually what Chicago if going to TRY and do
The team that traded him got better :manny: The thunder gave him up for a role player off the bench. Not even a starter, and the got better. And he was only 21 or 22 when they got rid of him. That speaks to his value.

I am actually going to play Devils Advocate and argue you can actually build a team around Josh Giddey, I just don't think the Bulls should try to do it.

With that said he's 6'8, can score at all 3 levels, his efficiency has improved and he is an underrated facilitator imo. Like not good enough to be a pure point guard but he won't 'stop' an offense and he can distribute it on the move and from a set play.

But you can't say Giddey doesn't have value. It was a fair trade.

In order to build around & win with Giddey, you're going to have to have elite off-ball defense because his biggest flaw is that he is going to get cooked against elite SG's in half court sets, especially on man to man defense. Your 3, 4 & 5 need to be tall, athletic and also be flexible: moving off the ball, scoring in and out of paint and rim protection from 4 & 5, especially shot blocking. Giddey is a decent help defender though.

Offensively, Giddey can provide the team with decent scoring, everyone will get shots and the offense shouldn't become stagnant. Giddey had a problem in OKC gambling with dangerous passes that resulted in TO's; I haven't watched him play since he left. It looks like he has grown in confidence shooting the basketball, so that is a plus. He also rebounds too.

Dallas (Luka era) team would be a lineup where Giddey would flourish. I understand where Bulls fans are saying that they are a lottery team with Giddey, but that is more of a Bulls management issue.

I wouldn't want to see Giddey on a team like the Spurs, Memphis, or really, any contending team. They'll figure out how to use him.

They are trending towards this roster makeup.

Matas is looking more and more like a SF that can play small ball 4 depending on the matchups.

I think in order for a team to really become a threat with Giddey is for him to be able to hold his own against SFs and PFs. If you can slot him on forwards that aren't great shyt creators then you can get away with him cross matching on the defense. This also unlocks another potential lineup that allows your team to play a 2/3 with length to help defend on the perimeter.

Thats always been the concern with giddey but I'm not sure if he can actually do that. He has the very rare almost negative wingspan, hiding him on defense is the major concern.

Fr man keep this shyt in the Bulls thread breh :gucci:
I wasn't just soliciting Bulls fans opinions on this. I wanted it to be a larger discussion if you didn't notice.

I'm fully aware on the pulse on Giddey from Bulls fans on both sides

You build around him if you want to be a treadmill team. He’ll put up numbers as the guy but will never amount to wins.

I think him, coby and Buzelis can be a interesting core going forward if they find a center who isn't a sieve.

Now I didn't say good but it would interesting and possibly good :ehh:

Good luck finding a big who can play defense and stretch the floor. Unless you're a star big man, if you can't defend and provide some offensive value (beyond what you do at the rim), chances are you're not going to be part of a core.
