No, but my reading of what you have said in this thread is 100% accurate. :russ:

And again, you shared a chart while having no idea how they came up with the result. I asked you a couple of times to share it, and even questioned it and you've just ignored it because you found something from WaPo--I know the chart came from a book, but you linked it from that site--and don't know how they came up with the figures.
I already told you hours ago that they used Congressional legislation as their measure. You even responded to that post :snoop:

@mastermind

"A system called DW-Nominate, developed by a group of six political scientists, rates each member of Congress on a scale from negative 1 (very liberal on economic issues) to positive 1 (very conservative) based on their roll-call votes. The system also creates a score for each president based on cases in which the outcome he desired from a vote in Congress was clearly articulated."

I know where you got it from, since I told you where you got it from. Lol

What I asked you is what is the methodolog? how do you determine if something is liberal or conservative?

I pointed out that this system considers Obama more more liberal than FDR, which we all know is cap.

It's all right there in the quote for you, breh. I don't know what else to say :francis:

the excerpt doesn’t say anything, and you know it. It has to say what it determines left and right and why. That’s what I am looking
for.

the excerpt doesn’t say anything, and you know it. Unless you somehow think Obama was more economically to the left of FDR, which is what the one chart says. Or that Jimmy Carter was the most leftist economic president of all. It’s okay to admit that you don’t fully understand what you shared.
Here's a long explanation for you: How does DW-Nominate determine whether a specific member of Congress or vote is liberal or conservative?

If you don't like how the methodology works, then fine but it's the only real researched metric out there. Don't kill me, I'm just the messenger :hubie:

I feel you, but I think we need more to show that.

I just know that Nixon created the EPA, advocated for universal health care, and almost got a version of UBI.

On a lot of major ticket items, Nixon was definitely to the left of every president in a while. Even looking at that chart, how was Obama more progressive than FDR? Jimmy Carter ushered in Neoliberal policies, yet he our most liberal president since WW2?

It just looks dubious until I see what the metrics were.

Just to add onto your list he wanted to tax the rich and was for giving the poor tax breaks.

Yeah, I’m still not sure how they rate executive orders, and it doesn’t seem they do.

I wasn’t going at @King Static X, but the methodology of that site looks sketchy. (I also realize I misunderstood the chart, but I still don’t buy this data set)

Some of you have an alternate view of Richard Nixon :heh:

He wasn't even close to being considered a "liberal" or even "moderate" Republican back then. I already listed some Republicans who were considered to be liberal/moderate in the 1950s-1980s.

Also, remember that government spending wasn't as heavily scrutinized by Republicans until Reagan in the '80s. Nixon supporting some government programs doesn't mean he was "more liberal" than Obama or whatever else some of you are saying.

No one considers Nixon a liberal, that's what you keep claiming.

But he was a lot more left than a lot of our presidents since, which is an indictment on the presidents after Nixon, versus praising Nixon.
